Amiga emulator witten in Rust: Copperline 0.21.0 (Web-App, macOS and Windows)
Version 0.21 of Copperline, an Amiga emulator written in Rust, adds spectators to Netplay, connects four local controllers on desktop and in RetroArch, and reduces the work needed to put each frame on screen. It also fixes file-picker crashes and changes two defaults that could upset otherwise working games. (dr)

Amix: Amiga Unix gets 68040/68060 support
As announced, a kernel and a patch were released yesterday at the title link during the Finnish event Saku 2026, which enable the Amiga Unix port Amix - previously limited to the 68020 and 68030 CPUs - to run on a 68040 or 68060 as well.
Amiga Unix was Commodore's Amiga port of System V, Release 4, developed by the American telecommunications company AT&T for the Amiga 2500UX and 3000UX systems. (snx)

Puzzle game: Connect 1.6 (update)
Almost two years after Frank Röger made his puzzle game Connect - which had previously been released as version 1.4 - available for free, another update has been released now. It is a technical optimization that allows the game to run with background music even on an Amiga with just 512 KB of RAM - though on such a machine, you should disable the second music track, as otherwise the game may crash. Generating new boards is now faster as well.
In Connect, the goal is to connect a series of ICs in such a way that each chip receives exactly the number of connections printed on its casing.

Version 1.6 fixes the crash that occur on 512 KB Amigas when loading the second music track. Both music tracks can now be played on 512 KB Amigas as well. I have already updated the system requirements accordingly. (snx)

Live-coding tool: Copper Showdown Editor 0.5.0 (Windows, Mac OS, Linux)
The "Copper Showdown Editor" creates Amiga Copper lists in the Lua scripting language, which are displayed in real time using the vAmiga emulator (amiga-news.de reported).
For version 0.5.0, all dependencies were updated, a new sound sample was added, the text editor was updated for a newer version of EGUI and an audio wake-up timer was implemented. The latter ensures that, when the window is minimized, the emulator is reactivated from time to time, which resolves issues with audio output. There is also a new console message for audio underflows and overflows. (snx)

Real-time strategy: StarCraft port "AmiSC" 0.7.1
"AmiSC" is an Amiga 68k port of the real-time space strategy game StarCraft. The engine runs natively on AmigaOS 3.x, without the need for PC emulation or an interpreter. An FPU is not required, but you will need the data from the original game and a fast Amiga with an AGA chipset or a graphics card.
Since our first news item, there have been numerous improvements: for example, there is now a computer opponent and significantly improved 320x240 and 640x480 modes.
