`07.Jul.2026` safir	Terminal tool: NComm gets an update after 30 years The classic terminal tool NComm is available in a new version for the first time in about 30 years, as reported by the Swedish online magazine safir. Version 3.07, released at the end of June, was created because Ola Lidholm and Gunnar Karlström encountered an old NComm bug while developing their own Amiga hardware with serial emulation: Under certain circumstances, a trash character was written to the input buffer, which prevented ZModem downloads. Original developer Torkel Lodberg made the source code available and authorized the new release. In addition to bug fixes, two new baud rates have been added: 230,400 and 1,500,000 baud, the latter specifically for the developers' own hardware. `07.Jul.2026`	AmigaOS 4: AmigaGCConDocker 3.2.0 AmigaGCConDocker, a Docker image for AmigaOS 4 development (amiga-news.de reported), has been released in version 3.2.0. New additions include Node.js v24 and npm v11. Among the updated components, the SDK (v54.25), clib4 (v2.2), and the base images (v1.8.0) stand out. Also updated were libogg (v1.3.6), libopus (v1.6.1), sdl3_image (v3.4.4), and numerous other libraries. The header files pthread.h and sched.h have been moved to avoid conflicts. `06.Jul.2026`	Open-source replacement for the Amiga's CD file system: ODFileSystem 0.6 Stefan Reinauer has created a modern open-source replacement for the Amiga CD file system with support for ISO 9660, Rock Ridge, Joliet, UDF, HFS, HFS+, and virtual CDDA audio tracks. Version 0.6 is a performance release: On the cdbench fixture (68020 -O2 release build) sequential read throughput climbs from 46,262 KiB/s to 197,673 KiB/s — a 4.3× increase (+327%) — and now runs 27% faster than the original AmigaOS 3.2.x CDFileSystem it replaces.
