Monitor driver: HighGFX 40.6 - high resolution under ECS/AGA
André Pfeiffer's monitor driver HighGFX provides on ECS-/AGA computers without a graphic board a resolution of 1024x768 at 55 Hz/22,22 kHz (AGA) and 54 Hz/21,81 kHz (ECS). A flickerfixer or a monitor compatible with these frequences are required. There is a compatibility list in the Readme.

Changes in version 40.6:
  • Higher frequencies for AGA computers (54 Hz/22,24 kHz -> 55 Hz/22,22 kHz)
  • Higher frequences for ECS computers (50 Hz/20,25 kHz -> 54 Hz/21,81 kHz)
  • (Hopefully) all known bugs fixed

In the first thread you can find perfectly working USB-hardware as well as a 13-Euro soundcard, in the second one you can find hardware which does not work at all or at least causes some troubles. (snx) (Translation: dr)

AmigaOS 4: Web-Browser OWB 2.8
Jörg Strohmayer has published a new version of his port of the Origyn Web Browser for AmigaOS 4. Changes since the last release:
  • Fixed WINDOWWIDTH and WINDOWHEIGHT
  • Implemented popup menus for <select> with up to 25 entries
  • JavaScript can open windows now
  • Implemented statusbar text
  • Title and URL are updated now
  • Built current version of libxml2. It seems most of the OWB crashes were caused by bugs in the old libxml2, for example with the new version OWB doesn't crash on the ACID3 test.
  • Implemented JavasCript alert requester
  • Added charset support to the clipboard functions. When using cut or copy it writes the UTF-8 CSET chunk now, for pasting it supports US-ASCII, ISO-8859-1 and UTF-8 and replaces unknown chars in all other charsets by '?', if there is no CSET chunk it's treated as ISO-8859-1.
  • Added iconify support
  • Updated to SVN revision 472
