Amiga-Emulator: WinUAE 3.2.1
A week after the release of WinUAE 3.2.0, an update is available.
Updates:
- Reduce RAM size and try again if Blizzard RAM allocation fails
- Switch off triple buffering if windowed mode with DWM active
Bugs fixed:
- Loading statefile with enabled FPU crashed
- Custom chipset display was shifted in some rare situations
- 64-bit version didn't load DLLs without x64, _64,... extension in name
- RTG board was not fully disabled if configured RAM config was incompatible
- 68040+ CPU mode statefile save buffer overflow
- Unaligned supervisor stack was not allowed in 68020+ modes

Crowd funding: Artbook "The Masters of Pixel Art"
"The Masters of Pixel Art" is an artbook, which presents "a selection of the very best pixel artwork in an exclusive production" featuring "5-bit colour up to 8-bit colour images (4-bit or below as used by Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum are not included in this book)."
The artbook will have the following features:
- 200 pages, covering 48 great pixel artists
- Over 350 selected pixel images
- Dimensions: 24 x 30.5 cm (9.5 x 12 inch)
- Kickstarter acknowledgement - get your name in the book as an official backer!
- Quality product: durable hardback cover with textile finish, highest quality paper
If until December 17th 150.000 Swedish kronor (about 16.100 Euro) will be collected, "The Master of Pixel Art" will be printed. Currently 12.305 Euro was donated.

WHDLoad: New packages until 21.11.2015
Using WHDLoad, you can install games, scene demos and intros from cracking groups to your harddisk that were only working from floppy disks previously. The following installers have been added until November 21st, 2015:

Carsten Siegner's Bootanimplayer plays bootanimations under MorphOS, which were originally meant for Adroid devices. You can find such animations at android-hilfe.de (in German).

AmigaOS 4: Arcade-Emulator FinalBurn Alpha 0.2.97.36 R1
FinalBurn Alpha is an arcade and console emulator, which among others emulates Sega Master System and MegaDrive, Colecovision, Capcom CS-1/2/3 and Neo Geo.
The version for AmigaOS-4, provided by Hugues 'HunoPPC' Nouvel, works fine on an AmigaOne X1000 with activated graphics filter, without them on a Sam440 as well. The preferences interface offers many options. All in all more than 8.000 ROMs are supported (which are not included). Some of the new features, Hugues Nouvel has presented at this year's Alchimie (video).
Changes in version 0.2.97.36 R1 for AmigaOS 4:
- Added new function savestate on M68k core [hunoppc]
- Fixed disable correctly demomode on load and run roms with user action [hunoppc]
- Fixed timer on demo game now use one timer with limit 60 FPS [hunoppc]

Week of November 2nd:
- Work on USB support for Linux hosted AROS continues (DizzyOfCRN)
- USB devices are now enumerated and visible in Trident using Linux hosted USB driver (DizzyOfCRN)
- Bulk transfers are now enabled in Linux hosted AROS USB driver (DizzyOfCRN)
- Linux hosted AROS can now receive keyboard input even without mouse pointer being in the AROS window (neil)
- Storage USB devices can now be accessed using Linux hosted AROS USB driver (DizzyOfCRN)
- A problem in Linux hosted AROS related with Linux side libraries using separate threads has been fixed (deadwood)
- ALSA audio driver for Linux hosted AROS transfers better chunked data for improved playback stability (deadwood)
Week of November 9th:
- IoErr() handling in datatypes.library has been improved (neil)

New A1200-cases: Preorders of available special editions
Last month, the Kickstarter project for producing new and improved Amiga-1200 cases suceeded at the second attempt (amiga-news.de reported). The delivery probably will start at the end of March.
If you did not take part in the campaign or if you going to purchase additional cases of the special editions, you can do this under the title link. Besides the limited edition, the regular cases can be preordered which the shop AmigaStore.eu is responsible for.

Achim Pankalla has released an update of the spreadsheet Ingnition for AmigaOS 4. Several problems of the previous version have been fixed and additional to the port itself, for the first time some features have been improved: The Turbocalc import as well the import and export of CSV-files have been improved.

Introducing the A.L.I.C.E. Laptop
A Laptop Incorporating a Classic Experience

A-EON Technology is pleased unveil the A.L.I.C.E. prototype at AmiWest 2015. A.L.I.C.E. is an x86 laptop that boots straight into the AmiKit Classic Amiga environment.
A.L.I.C.E. utilizes ordinary PC Laptop hardware to achieve extraordinary results. A truly immersive "Classic" experience has been created in a modern portable package by leveraging commodity hardware and existing emulation solutions. The core of A.L.I.C.E. is Amiga Forever and the freely available AmiKit software environment running on top of Linux. The Linux environment is completely hidden, but easily accessed if desired.
A.L.I.C.E. also includes a "Rabbit Hole" feature which integrates both Windows and Linux applications into the AmiKit environment. Amiga document and media files now open up in Libre Office, MPlayer, Firefox, etc. In fact any application that can be installed under Linux can be run from the AmiKit workbench. A.L.I.C.E. also provides a platform to easily access AMIStore and all of the upcoming software releases planned for Classic Amiga users. Exclusive add-on features are also planned that will only be available to A.L.I.C.E. users.
Ján Zahurančík, the developer of AmiKit said, “I have been dreaming about a portable Amiga computer ever since my real Amiga desktop could not keep up with my travel plans anymore. The A.L.I.C.E. laptop is the dream come true. Actually, the reality is more beautiful and more feature rich than the dream itself!”
Trevor Dickinson added, "I've always been a big fan of Amiga Forever and the AmiKit distribution but running an Amiga on top of Windows always felt a little clumsy to me. Several years ago I came up with the A.L.I.C.E. concept for a Classic Laptop but it has taken the combined skills and talent of the A.L.I.C.E. team to make the idea a reality. Amazing-ly, not only is A.L.I.C.E. portable it also delivers a lightning fast Classic experience.”
In addition to AmiKit, A.L.I.C.E. Can also boot into standard Linux and Windows environments and can support AmigaOS 4 Classic if the pre-requisite PicassoIV and PowerPC ROMS images are supplied.
