Game Construction Kit: RedPill 0.7.12
RedPill is a Game Construction Kit written in AmiBlitz2, which can help developing games of diverse genres - published videos show versions of Pacman and Mirror. RedPill is compatible to AGA and ECS, the "player" requires 1 MB Chip as well as some Fast RAM.
Changes:
- New Triggers Show Scores and Enter Hiscore add Hi-Score functionality to Redpill.
- In case of CD32, Enter Hiscore tries to save the scores in the local drive, if not uses CD32 non-volatile memory. I hope someone can test it :)
- New project ex_hiscores shows how to use these new triggers.
- Fixed issue when exporting games that use image background and sprite background at the same time.
- Updated Lha compression and now time is right for unpacked files (Until 2038).

WHDLoad: New installers until 11.04.2020

The Register: Ideas for explaining an Amiga mystery wanted
A strange case the "The Register" has reported under the title link: an Amiga 4000 only then were transfered files from an external SCSI harddrive if the clock program was running - with a certain window size and placed on the top right-hand side of the Workbench.
The editor, Richard Speed, himself has given a possible explanation: "I suspect the issue was a weird DMA conflict between the DMA-based SCSI controller and the rest of the system with the clock application rendering adjusting the timings just enough for it to work." But he has enrouraged the readers to give similar theories in the comment section.

Platformer: Hydra Castle Labyrinth
Artur 'Arti' Jarosik has ported the Metroidvania clone "Hydra Castle Labyrinth" to AmigaOS. His version supports joysticks and (CD32-) gamepads, runs in windows or fullscreen mode, scales the screen solution as required and supports "save points". An Amiga equipped with a Vampire accelerator board is recommended.

CDXL player: AGABlaster 0.9.71 alpha
AGABlaster plays videos saved in Commodore's CDXL format. Changes in version 0.9.71:
- Added support for arbitrary video size >= 128 (multiples of 16)
- Added automatic video centering (x-axis)
- Added OCS support (Kick 1.3 supported as well)
- Added overscan support.
- Added NTSC support (detection and automatic y-centering using overscan)

Games competition: Programming a Top Down Racer
At itch.io a 16-bit top down racing developer competition for Amiga and Atari computers was launched. The deadline for entries is September 30, 2020. "Winners will be awarded a Trophy, an option to have their game published on Bitmap Soft" and a share of a prize money of 60, 30 and 10% which still has to be donated by the users - or, if too little money was donated, 100 British pound will be given by the organizers.

Jump'n Run: Mini Zorro as Boxed Edition or free digital version
"Mini Zorro" (video) has been available for some weeks and is another part of a series of Backbone games released by José A. 'Jojo073' Gonzáles and Zoltar under the labels 'Amiga Wave' and 'IronGate' (e.g. Mini Swat). Upon request the digital version is available for free via e-mail. Additionally you can order a physical boxed edition with disks, manual and comic as well as stickers.
A price for the boxed edition has not been given. Other games of the developers could have been purchased for 10 Euro. Mini Zorro requires OCS and at least a 68020 processor. For a better performance, a slightly upgraded A1200 is recommended.

Games announcements: "Lala Prologue", "Boss Machine" and "Mars Tank Attack"
"Lala Prologue" (video) is the port of a 8-Bit game. The jump'n run offers a mix of smooth scrolling and hard cuts between different screens. The game will present up to 32 colours with the help of multiplied sprites and will run on any Amiga with at least 512 KB Fast RAM.
For 'Boss Machine', a horizontal scrolling shoot'em up written by Daniel Stephens (code), Kevin Saunders (graphics) and Lee Smith (music) which will run on AGA computers, a new preview video was released.
Achim Kern's "Mars Tank Attack" (screenshot) is a clone of the classic Artillery. The game is being developed with Hollywood and can be played against human players or computer-controlled opponents. The status of the game the developer describes as "90% completed".

Hollywood: XMP-Plugin 1.0
Press release: A blast from the past! Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are proud to present the XMP plugin for Hollywood. Once this plugin is installed, Hollywood will "automagically" be able to play almost all flavours of Amiga & PC tracker module formats.
All formats that are supported by the Extended Module Player library (XMP) by Claudio Matsuoka and Hipolito Carraro Jr can now be played with Hollywood! For example FastTracker II, ScreamTracker, OctaMED, The Player 4/5/6, NoisePacker, ProRunner, Oktalyzer, Impulse Tracker, Ultra Tracker, Ice Tracker, Liquid Tracker, Quadra Composer, and many more.
Additionally, a demo applet which demonstrates the playback of an OctaMED file is included. This applet can also be run using the freely available Hollywood Player so people who don't own the full version of Hollywood can check it out as well. You can download the plugin from the official Hollywood portal. Thanks to Hollywood's cross-platform plugin system versions for AmigaOS3 (Classic), AmigaOS3 (FPU), AmigaOS4, MorphOS, WarpOS, AROS (x86), Linux (arm, ppc, x86, x64), Mac OS (ppc, x86, x64), Windows (x86, x64), Android and iOS platform are provided.
