YAM Open Source Team (ANF)

New online FAQ for YAM available
The developer team of the email program YAM (Yet Another Mailer) has launched a new web servive for an automated administration of fequently asked questions (FAQ). The phpMyFAQ based system does not only allow every user to browse the existing data base of the YAM FAQ, but also to directly add qustions to the system which may be answered later on by the administrators and which will be added then to the FAQ.

The team hopes to provide their user community a better support for frequently asked questions that way. It is also the aim to put some kind of tool into the community's hand to help the community by themselves, because common questions are far better and more transparent to handle this way than it was possible before with the static FAQ. AROS for AmigaOS: icon.library with glow, png and OS4-icon support
Bernd Roesch has ported the current AROS icon.library to AmigaOS. The library requires "AFA OS" and offers these benefits:
  • supports icons of the new AmigaOS 4 format (32 bit, two frames)
  • supports icons of the AROS format (32 bit, two frames)
  • supports PNG icons (32 Bit, one frame)
  • glowicons are no longer Workbench palette dependent, but are rendered with 24 bit depth - better quality, faster loading
  • icons remain visible while moving with the mouse
  • compatible with Dopus Magellan II 5.82, the icons remain visible while moving with the mouse, too

The current version is indicated as "final beta". As long as no problems are reported by end users a final version will follow soon. The library has been successfully tested at the author's A4000 and WinUAE/Amikit.

The sources are available at the title link (iconlib_src.lha), too. The source archive contains also a current version of libpng: v1.2.16 from 2007-01-31. (cg) (Translation: ub)
