A-EON: A1222 Early Adopter Programme started
At Christmas, A-EON had announced pre-order registration for the limited edition A1222 Plus Early Adopter motherboard would be possible soon, now it's happening: The announced 'AAA Bundle' can now be ordered at Amigakit for 115 Euros (99 GBP) - customers of this bundle can optionally request to be enrolled in the A1222 Plus Early Adopter programme and purchase one of the 100 motherboards available. The other initially described option - ordering an 'Early Adopter' motherboard via a 20% deposit - does not seem to be available yet.

Note from the staff: A-EON's Christmas press release lists "Enhancer Software 2.0" as part of the AAA Bundle. But the actual product description at the Amigakit store implies that (only) customers that qualify for the A1222 Early Adopter Programme will recieve a boxed edition of Enhancer 2.0. This way, the contents of the bundle would change depending on the time of purchase, and a customer would have no way of determining if he will recieve Enhancer 2.0 as part of his purchase or not. Person Contact and Information Manager PerCIMan 0.7
Ulrich Beckers has updated his person contact and information manager PerCIMan which is available for AmigaOS 3.x, AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS (as well as Windows). In version 0.7 a birthday reminder was added.

Editor's note (dr): Please note that the AmigaOS 3.x version requires a graphics card. This is not mentioned in the Aminet readme and on the website of the author you can only conclude it from his line "Other requirements are low: A screen resolution of at least 820x820". In a previous mail to his program to measure times required to motor-react, R²Z, Ulrich Beckers stated that Hollywood programs requires a graphics card by default - except the Plananarame plugin is used. We have asked the author if he still tries to release versions supporting the AGA chipset as well. (snx) (Translation: dr)

Arcade classic: Bagman
Jean-François Fabre ported his SDL-based clone of the arcade classic Bagman to the Amiga, which required SDL libraries and thus a graphics card. Now a port is available which directly uses the chipset graphics of the Amiga.

Bagman requires 2 MB RAM, ECS and at least a 68020 processor. The source codes of the game which was written in C++ are available on Github. (cg) (Translation: dr)

According to Hans de Ruiter, his commercial FTP server ZitaFTP includes "the first part of the planned GUI": A "Docky" "shows status information, and has a popup menu that makes editing the configuration, restarting the server, and server shutdown easy. No more sending Ctrl+C to the server to shut it down." (video). Until January 20th you can purchase ZitaFTP 15% off the standard price. (cg) (Translation: dr)

AmigaOS 4: MiniGL for GL4ES
Daniel Müßener's MiniGL for GL4ES ("MiniGL4GL4ES"), which is available in a first alpha version, allows also users of Polaris graphics cards to play a lot of the MiniGL games under AmigaOS 4.

MiniGL is based on Warp3D which has never been adapted for Polaris graphics cards while the OpenGL implementation GL4ES is based on OpenGLES2 - written by the same author - which uses Warp3D Novas. Thanks to Hans de Ruiter it supports Polaris graphics cards.

But currently there is an important limitation: You should not run more than one MiniGL application simultaneously. You can find notes on known errors under the title link.
