WHDLoad: New packages until 21.06.2014
Using WHDLoad, you can install games, scene demos and intros from cracking groups on your harddisk that were not compatible with anything but floppy disks. The following installers have been added until June 21st, 2014:
- 2014-06-20 new: Megademo (Royal Amiga Force) done by StingRay (Info, Image)

Emulator: WinUAE 2.8.1
Now version 2.8.1 of the well-known Amiga emulator WinUAE is available.
Changes:
- 2.8.0 bugs fixed:
- JIT on/off on the fly switching was unreliable
- A500 reading write-only/non-existing registers method introduced in 2.8.0 was incorrectly also used in AGA modes
- Updates:
- Fast CPU mode audio DMA wait hack compatibility improved (workaround for programs that use CPU delay loops in audio code)
- Some chipset emulation updates, Critical Mass / Parallax finally works
- AROS ROM updated
- New features:
- Directory filesystem MorphOS compatible >4G file size DOS packet support
- Paths panel relative path mode now supports relative paths that point outside of winuae root directory
- Bug fixes:
- Filter modes in DirectDraw crashed in some situations
- Disk insert using GUI after emulation was started inserted disk in write protected state
- Quickstart disk eject button was unreliable
- Video recording with "Capture before filtering" unticked used wrong video size
- "Toggle between mouse grabbed and un-grabbed" input event fixed

AROS: AEROS for Odroid U2/U3 (beta version)
Pascal Papara has released another version of his Linux-hosted AROS-distribution AEROS, for the Odroid-models U2 and U3.
It is available in his App-Store (nr. 88) - this weekend it is for free, from next week on it will cost 7 Euro. On the next weekend a free version is announced which, similar to the version for the Raspberry Pi, will not include the lx-command.

Playable Demo: Multiplayer Coop-Shooter "Chaos Guns"
"Chaos Guns" combines the team of four independent characters from "Hired Guns" with the the bird's-eye view from "Alien Breed". The developers describe the released preview as tech-demo, which still has several bugs but gives an impression of the basic game play.
The engine of Chaos Guns as well as the used programming language ("PowerD") are still in development. Therefore the game has rather high hardware requirements: An AGA-Amiga and at least a 68040-processor. Before launching the game, the screenmodes for intro and game have to be set with the prefs-utility. For playing the intro-music, the dbplayer.library has to be copied from the "support"-folder into the LIBS:.

AmigaOS 4: A-EON Technology sells DvPlayer (Update)
According to A-EON Technology under the title link, the company reached an agreement with Stephen Fellner to pass the rights for the exclusive distribution of his video and audio play programm DvPlayer.
DvPlayer requires AmigaOS 4. A version for AmigaOS 3.x was announced.

KMTech Design: AmiPad 32 and wireless Amiga mouse Typhoon
Following the adapter for Playstation control pads Cyclone RX (amiga-news.de reported), british developer KMTech Design has added a control pad for the Amiga CD³² and a rechargeable wireless optical mouse for the Amiga (and Atari: switchable by two jumpers) to its products.
In specialised Amiga shops, these retrofitted devices can be also purchased at Amedia. The trader has a retail store in Courcelles-Chaussy, located in the french-german-luxembourgian border region. (snx)

AROS: 68k-Distribution AROS Vision 2.6.1
In version 2.6.1 of his AROS/68k-distribution AROS Vision, Olaf Schönweiß uses MUI 3.8 instead of the AROS-implementation Zune (screenshot). Additionally, the MMU libraries and components as well as some files for developers (e.g. Pascal and AmiLua) have been updated.
Please note that some of the preferences only work with Zune, mainly Locale and Input. If you want to change these preferences, you can copy the Zune-version of the muimaster.library to Libs: and afterwards return to the original version (all required libraries are in the directory Libs:MUI_Change).
It is also recommended to install the Installer 43.3 of Amiga Technologies in directory C:.

A-EON Technology takes over amiga.org (update)
For several hours the copyright entry of amiga.org websites has been listing a new owner: "Amiga.org and logo Copyright © 2014, A-EON Technology Ltd". Besides, the users Trevor 'TrevorDick' Dickinson and Matthew 'amigakit' Leaman are administrators.
An official confirmation of the old or new owner is still missing but one of the moderators of amiga.org has already confirmed the change.

Adapter for Playstation controller: Cyclone RX at ebay.uk
The British company KMTech offers a adapter for connecting a Playstation 1/2 controller to an Amiga at ebay.co.uk. Two push-buttons, autofire and fast autofire mode called "Rapidfire" are emulated. Additionally the controller button R2 (front right down) let you jump in Jump'n Run games.
The additional buttons of a CD32-joypad obviously are not emulated. Cyclone RX is advertised by "works with all models of Commodore Amiga" but using an A600 it might be necessary to adapt the adapter due to the limited space. The adapter costs £24.99 (about 31 Euro) plus about 2,95 Euro for shipping.
