ACube Systems: Fan recommendation for the Sam440ep In their New Year's greeting, ACube Systems recommend that owners of the Sam440ep PowerPC motherboard, whose components have now been in service for a good 19 years, retrofit a fan for the previously passively cooled M9 graphics chip. A suitable product for this purpose is the LD3007MS heat sink fan designed for the Raspberry Pi. Power is supplied via the J17 connector on the Sam440ep. The red cable must be connected to pin 1 and the black cable to pin 4. The fan currently costs just over three euros at the usual sales platforms. A photo of the fan installed can be found at the title link. (snx) [News message: 04. Jan. 2026, 08:40] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] |

Web browser: Support requested for Voyager re-release In addition to the ongoing development of the AWeb browser, which can be followed in our German forum, the Amigazen project is also attempting to re-release Voyager. However, an important file is missing from the open source versions: vapor.h. The developers are looking for a copy of the original include file, which is normally located at "/includestuff/macros/vapor.h" in Voyager and the Vapor Toolkit library. All versions on Aminet, GitHub and elsewhere date from 2005 or later, with the macros rewritten for GCC and no longer backward compatible with SAS/C. According to the developers, there must be an earlier version from 2000 or earlier that works with SAS/C. If anyone finds or has this version, please upload it. (dr) [News message: 02.
