New version of Smart File System and SFS2 (AmigaOS 3/4) Jörg Strohmayer has released new versions of the file systems SFS ("Smart File System") and SFS2. In the meantime, a port of SFS2, which supports files larger than 4 GB, exists for AmigaOS 3 as well, moreover, the maximum partition size now lies at 1 TB (Terabyte). Warning: Those who already use SFS2 and want to upgrade to the newest version must reformat all SFS2 partitions imperatively. An update to the original SFS is also available. In SFS 1.254, the maximum partition size now lies at 128 GB, irrespective of the block size used. All corresponding checks were revised, should SFS be used on a partition that is too large, the file system now reacts duly with "Disk Full" error messages. (cg) (Translation: cad) [News message: 05.
