Cloanto: Amiga Forever Essentials für Android
Pressemitteilung: 23. April 2013 - Cloanto, Herausgeber von Amiga Forever seit 1997, gibt heute die sofortige Verfügbarkeit von Amiga Forever Essentials über Google Play bekannt. Diese Veröffentlichung stellt den ersten Schritt einer ganzen Reihe geplanter "Essentials"-Pakete für unterschiedliche Plattformen dar, in denen offiziell lizenzierte Amiga-ROM- und -OS-Dateien für die Verwendung durch eine Vielfalt von quelloffenen Emulationsprogrammen zugänglich gemacht werden.
Für die Android-Version hat Cloanto eng mit den Entwicklern von UAE4Droid, AnUAE4All, UAE4All2 und anderen Anwendungen zusammengearbeitet, um sicherzustellen, dass die Amiga-Systemdateien automatisch erkannt werden und damit auf einfache Weise verwendet werden können.
"Wir sind dankbar, dass Google Play Emulatoren und GPL-Komponenten offen gegenübersteht. Daher war Android für uns der ideale Kandidat für die erste Veröffentlichung im Rahmen der Amiga-Forever-Essentials-Reihe", sagte der Cloanto-Präsident Michael Battilana. "Das erlaubt es uns, die Amiga-Emulation legal und unkompliziert verfügbar zu machen, was für andere Systeme und Plattformen nicht immer möglich ist."
Amiga Forever Essentials eröffnet das Potenzial verschiedener Emulationsanwendungen, die für Android entwickelt wurden, indem tausende Amiga-Titel unter den AmigaOS-Versionen 1.2, 1.3, 2.04, 3.0 und 3.1 auf emulierten Computern wie dem Amiga 500 oder Amiga 1200 gespielt werden können. Bonusinhalte wie die Workbench 1.3 und die First-Demos-Diskette lassen Amiga-Enthusiasten unvergessliche Klassiker wie die Boing-Demo von 1984 genießen.
Die App ist jetzt für nur 76 Cent im Google-Play-Store verfügbar. Entwicklern stehen zudem weitere Informationen zu geteilten Systemdateien auf Android-Geräten zur Verfügung. (snx)

AmigaOS 4: 8-Bit-Emulator Atari++ 1.72
Atari++ emuliert Ataris 8-Bit-Homecomputer sowie die Spielekonsole Atari 5200. Die AmigaOS-4-Portierung stammt von Ventzislav 'drHirudo' Tzvetkov, unterstützt AmigaInput und kann mit Joysticks oder analogen Controllern gesteuert werden.
Changes:
- The binary file loader automatically generated when inserting a COM or EXE into the disk drive and booting from it is now much shorter and requires a lot less RAM. It requires now, however, an additional ESCape code and hence emulator support. This will now also load binary files that require RAM from 0x800 and up
- This release adds support for ATX files and includes an emulation of the disk drive timing, handling of bad and duplicate sectors and a more precise emulation of the SIO timing
- An additional type of watch point was added: The default watch point now only reacts on memory writes, whereas the new watch point continues to react on reads and writes
- Experimented a lot with the timing of the GTIA Prior writing and found that the currently implemented logic is actually very close to the real system, additional delay cycles make results only worse, not better. Thus, leaving it as it is right now
- The SDL StringGadget now reacts on Ctrl+Backspace and Ctrl+Delete and erases its contents on this keyboard command
- Added emulation for "stuck" Player/Missile shift registers when switching from 4x or 2x expansion to the size register "2" value, which is almost, but not quite 1x expansion
- The built-in Os blocks NMIs now early in the reset cycle and by that tries to work around bad display lists left over by buggy programs
- Minor modification in the built-in FMS (Dos 2.++): CONFIG.SYS can now change the position of the FMS buffers by poking into DiskBufferBase $710,$711 and relocate them
- Minor modification of the short VBI: GPrior, ColBK and Col1 are now only reloaded if the graphics mode really requires it. This applies to fine scrolling text modes, and the text window modes with the GTIA modes (modes 9+64,10+64 and 11+64). This fixes compatibility issues with Atari Tennis and some Lucasfilms intros
- Minor modifications in the FMS: Rename with wildcard was broken, and the FMS no longer tries to load non-valid VTOCs
- The DUP COPY command avoids now trying to overwrite BASIC program memory or other user memory protected correctly by setting APPMEMHI. Some cartridges do not set this Os pointer correctly, though. Mac/65 does not. The new DUP command NEW will erase user memory and make it available for COPY
- Fixed a long standing bug of all Dos 2.XX compatible FMS'es: Directory reading mode did not cooperate with any other operations that would access the directory, and would invalidate the directory access channel. This is no longer the case now. Additionally, reading the directory sets now the EOF warning flag (Y = 3) correctly right before the EOF
- The STATUS command, as specified by DOS 2.0S and DOS 2.5, was actually quite unuseful as it required a file specification which was never supplied by BASIC. The new implementation returns the status of the last CIO command on the same channel if the channel is open, allowing BASIC for example to access the near-EOF warning return code

Inoffizieller "MorphOS Counter" illustriert MorphOS-Verkaufszahlen
In einer Diskussion auf morphzone.org veröffentlichen MorphOS-Nutzer seit Veröffentlichung von MorphOS 2 die Seriennummer ihrer neu erworbenen MorphOS-Lizenz. Da die vergebenen Nummern offenbar linear ansteigen, ist davon auszugehen dass die zuletzt vergebene Seriennummer auch der Anzahl verkaufter MorphOS-Lizenzen entspricht.
Konrad 'koszer' Czuba erstellt in regelmäßigen Abständen anhand der veröffentlichten Seriennummer ein Diagramm, mit dessen Hilfe sich die Entwicklung der MorphOS-Verkaufszahlen seit 2008 nachvollziehen lässt (für vergrößerte Darstellung das Bild anklicken):

AmigaOS 4: glUAE 20130417
Bei glUAE handelt es sich um eine Sammlung von Skripten, die die Nutzung von chipsatzabhängigen oder nicht zu AmigaOS 4 kompatiblen Anwendungen unter dem PowerPC-Betriebssystem vereinfachen soll. Mittels glUAE können ausführbare Dateien, Disk-Images oder ZIP-Archive mit einem Doppelklick im Amiga-Emulator UAE gestartet werden.
In der aktuellen Version 20130417 ist ein Fehler im "Launch-Application"-Skript bereinigt worden, indem FOLLOWLINKS durch COPYLINKS ersetzt wurde. (snx)

Amiga-Emulator: FS-UAE 2.2.2 (Update)
Frode Solheims FS-UAE für Windows, OS X, Linux und BSD basiert auf WinUAE und ist komplett per Joypad bedienbar. Die Änderungen in Version 2.2.1:
- Show on-screen warning if OpenAL device cannot be opened, log OpenAL error code.
- New option save_state_compression can be used to disable save statecompression.
- New option “log” which can be used to enable misc types of debug logging.
- Queued input events are processed in hsync handler.
- Use CD32 + FMV quickstart for CD32 model, update cd.device in cartridge ROM fixes problem with Pirates Gold intro.
- Removed a couple of left-over / unnecesary log statements.
- Support language option to override GUI language.
- New translations: tr [Decypher].
- (Launcher) Fixed bug when specifying window_width / window_height in custom settings.
- (Launcher) Warn when using A1200 model with < 2 MB chip RAM.
- (Launcher) Fixed a bug where 0-byte screenshot / covers files could be stored if a network error occurs while downloading.
- (Launcher) Better support for A3000 and A4000 with the game database.
- (Launcher) Support hiding variants from the database based on _status.
- (Launcher) Cycle-exact can be disabled from database if abs. necessary.
- (Launcher) Support language option to override GUI language.

Inzwischen steht Version 2.2.2 des Emulators zur Verfügung:
- With video_sync = auto, allow some slack when deciding to enable full sync or not (accept host refresh rate 49 instead of just 50, ..).
- New option: assume_refresh_rate (int) to manually specify host refresh rate when refresh rate detection fails. This option in combination with video_sync = auto effectively replaces video_sync = full.
- video_sync = full is now an alias for video_sync = auto.
- Fixed bug causing FS-UAE to hang when pausing with video_sync = off.
- New model CD32/FMV (includes FMV ROM), CD32 model reverted to original.
- Fixed compatibility issues in scanline GLSL shaders.

Wie ACube Systems unter dem Titellink mitteilt, habe man die Zusammenarbeit mit MAS Elettronica dahingehend intensiviert, dass beide auch die Produkte des anderen auf ihrer Webseite führen. MAS Elettronica ist ein italienischer Anbieter linux- bzw. androidbasierter ARM-Boards. (snx)

Amiga-Emulator: WinFellow 0.5.1
Eine neue Version des Windows basierten Amiga-Emulators "WinFellow" steht ab sofort zur Verfügung. Die wichtigsten Änderungen in diesem Update:
- conversion of most of the former assembler code to C
- enhanced compatibility with many titles; the chipset interrupt handler was completely re-designed, and sound interrupt handling was changed as well, allowing execution of many titles that previously failed
- emulation of a battery backed real-time clock (Oki MSM 6242)
- support for 2 joysticks, usable simultaneously
- audio volume made controllable
- the LED overlays were changed to no longer be scaled or stretched, making them nicer to look at
- basic Cloanto Amiga Forever/RetroPlatform Player integration
- revamped debugger using a more modern GUI design
- ability to generate minidumps, which allows us to debug crashes that are reported to us
- updated PDF user guide
- update of project files to current Visual Studio (2012 Update 2 is used to compile the builds) and DirectX; the code can now be compiled using Visual Studio Express editions
- new versioning scheme, based on SVN revisions
- several minor bug and stability fixes

AmigaOS4: Plugin-Pakete für Gimp 2.6.11
Auf OS4-Depot wurden mittlerweile alle Plugin-Pakete mit den in der Gimp-Distribution enthaltenen Plugins veröffenlicht, zusätzlich sind jetzt zwei Archive mit Plugins von Dritten verfügbar: gimp-Plugin-pack und gimp-beautify (Screenshots: 1, 2).
- gimp-plugin-pack enthält folgende Plugins:
- gimp-beautify: Verschiedene Plugins zum Verschönern von Fotos durch einfaches Klicken auf eine Vorschau. Es können Veränderungen an den Farben durchgeführt und verschiedene Arten von Rahmen hinzugefügt werden. Weitere Informationen bitte der Dokumentation (LIESMICH) entnehmen!
