MorphOS: Change to new CPU-architecture planned
In his MorphOS presentation at the Alchimie, Fabien "Fab" Coeurjoly has mentioned a planned change of the CPU-architecture:
At first the available PPC-based Mac computers (Powerbook and Power Mac G5) will be used. Then - according to Coeurjoly "in some years" - a change to a new CPU-architecture will follow. Either X64 or ARM.
68k and PPC compatibility at least temporarily would be lost. Coeurjoly said that emulators have to be developed.

Event: Video about MorphOS 3.0 at Alchimie 2011 (Update)
At the this year's Alchimie the still unpublished MorphOS 3.0 was presented. According to the French explanations of a video (127 MB) of the event, the update will include the following features:
- Support of Apple PowerBook G4 (models 5.6 to 5.9)
- Touchpad and gestures
- Special keys
- Support of different screens (15", 17" and other)
- Cardbus connection (PCMCIA)
- Airport driver (via Cardbus)
- monitoring of the sensors (temperature etc.)
- 3D-driver for Radeon 9700 in the PowerBook
- Power management
- AGP acceleration on supported platforms (Macs)
- WLAN-driver (Atheros 5000), integrated in TCP/IP-stack
- WPA/WPA2-WLAN-encryption (in cooperation with AROS-developers)
- SATA and SCSI driver (Symbios) for PowerMac G4
- Faster 3D-driver inclusive R300-based graphic boards (Radeon 9500 to 9800)
- Integration of Firewire-stack Helios
- Improved system components:
- Ambient: Transparent panel, plugins, video thumbnails, etc.
- MUI: Improved deactivation effect, rendering of parts of activer objects
- Multiview: New features and supported formats
- HDConfig and mount.library: Improved handling of Mac partitions
- New applications:
- CD/DVD burning programm
- New PDF viewer
- Modern text editor
- MagicBeacon: Visual notification (new eMails, finished download etc.)
- Package manager Grunch
- File systems: NTFS3G, SMBFS (64 Bit), SSHFS (transparent SFTP), ICE File System, etc.
- Cairo, Pixman and Fontconfig included in the system

MorphOS: AudioToClip 1.0
Grzegorz Kraszewski's AudioToClip is a simple console tool written during work on DigiBooster 3. It puts any audio file recognizable by Reggae library into a selected unit of the system clipboard.
The tool is distributed with source code, so it can serve as a programming example for Reggae and clipboard.device. (snx)

Mailbox: Support-BBS for several mailbox-software, new Fidonet-Mailer AmiBinkd
The Belgian Rudi Timmermans has established a support-BBS for CNet BBS, his new Fidonet-mailer AmiBinkd and other software. The mailbox can be accessed via telnet under amibinkd.dyndns.org port 5432.

USB-Stack: ANAIIS 1.03
ANAIIS ("Another Native Amiga IO Interface Stack") written by Gilles Pelletier is an USB-stack which works on systems with a 68000-processor. The stack at least requires AmigaOS 1.3 and is meant for Zorro-II-systems without an accelerator board.
Changes:
- Add a semaphore in massive, to prevent damages
- NAK issue (not an error, but normal busy device)
- MaxTransfer and Mask
- Wait delay

MorphZone library: Article about Exec-lists
Grzegorz 'krashan' Kraszewski has written an article about Exec-lists.
It is the basic dynamic data structure used by exec.library, the core of MorphOS, as well as AmigaOS and AROS. Then Exec Lists article may be an interesting reading for programmers of all these operating systems.

AROS: SDL-ports NetBubble 0.9 and Beret 1.1
Net-Bubble 0.9
"serk118uk" has ported the puzzle Bobble-clone Net-Bubble 0.9 to AROS. Partly the graphics were reworked with Lunapaint and Ciname 4D (under JanusUAE) and a new soundtrack was added from other open-source Bobble-clones. Network games work under AROS as well.
Beret 1.1
The 2D puzzle game Beret was ported by kas1e to AROS.

Currently the MorphOS-team-developer Jacek Piszczek is in the Antarctica again with a Polish expedition.

Amiga Forever 2012.1.1.0
Cloanto has published an update for its emulator package Amiga Forever 2012. Changes in this version:
- Improved drag and drop and RP9 Autoconfigure functionality
- RetroPlatform Library is now local to player, rather than shared
- DVD installer is now Unicode-enabled, which helps copy Amiga files with accented characters to some non-Latin sysems
