Amiga floppy reader: ADF-Copy 1.104 supporting Flux-Level
Dominik Tonn wrote: "ADF-Copy is a small hardware i developed which uses a Teensy 3.2 microcontroller to read and write non copy protected Amiga disks with an out of the box PC 3.5" Floppy drive connected to the microcontroller which can be build with a few jumper wires on a breadboard with no additional component. The low level stuff is handled in the microcontroller which is controlled by a Java application."

Similar to Greaseweazle or Kryoflux, the latest versionen of the software now also can read disks at flux level and therefore also can read copy-protected disks.

According to the author "writing is not yet implemented". In flux format a track is bigger than the RAM of the micro controller. Therefore the data have to be transferred "on-the-fly". It is supposed to be saved saves in SuperCardPro Format. (cg) (Translation: dr)

Media player: EaglePlayer 2.06
EaglePlayer is a media player for the Amiga playing a lot of audio formats (MP3, AIFF, MOD...). The program has been available for many years and still is being updated. Version 2.06 provides many minor improvements and a new "Skin" for the user-interface of the program. Besides diverse bugs have been fixed:
  • some more 68000 related fixes (some plugins are still 68020+)
  • 14 Bit Amplifier: significant audio quality improvements
    • automatic limitation to 28 kHz sampling rate on OCS and when
    • non doublescan display modes are detected
    • way better defaults for the 14 bit table for uncalibrated systems
    • (previous default was closer to 13.5 Bit - like AHI)
    • fixed 14 bit table for calibrated setups: the C. Buchner
    • quantization approach was wrong, resulting in unnecessary artifacts
    • fixed transition delay from one song to another
    • added optional noise shaping for 16-14 bit conversion (060 or faster)
    • adjusted default volume for filtered mixing modes
    • support for stereo 14 bit calibration
    • Amiga1200 autodetection with appropriate adjustment for the "highboost"
    • equalization filter (A600 and A1200 have a different audio filter compared to the other Amiga models)
  • FFT Analyzer
    • whole new set of new display modes in High and True color P96 RTG
    • (using AMMX acceleration, if detected/available )
    • internal sine/cosine table instead of math libs due to
    • broken mathtrans/mathffp libraries
  • MPEG Audio (i.e. .mp2/.mp3)
    • automatically select freqdiv=2 in 8 Bit output mode
    • (i.e. when neither of 14 Bit/Pamela/AHI/Toccata Amplifier are active)
    • preliminary UTF-16 support for Moduleinfo and ID3TagV2
  • Moduleinfo
    • update to latest version
  • Playerloader
    • 68000 fixes and sanity checks for some tests to avoid
    • enforcer hits (e.g. tronic)
    • renamed some eagleplayers for more resilience against
    • broken unarchiver tools (replacing spaces with underscores in filenames)
    • better check for MP3 files with certain ID3v2 header versions
    • AIFF file detection improvements (AIFC)
  • Patternscroll
    • P96 RTG support: colorful and faster scrolling, color bars in 16/24 bit
  • Protracker
    • fixes for some tightly looping modules in cases where "song end"
    • detection is disabled (thanks to Gerben van K. for the report)
    • fix for some broken Protracker modules which work with VBlank timing
    • only
  • AIFF
    • ADPCM support added (standard IMA4, Tavenard's ADP4)
  • Manager
    • fixed some Enforcer hits
  • Pamela Amplifier
    • 16 Bit audio output plugin for Vampire V4
  • QuillUI
    • truecolor user interface for big screens (>800x600) as homage to
    • a certain movie series
  • TFMX_Pro player by Don Adan included

The 100% useless AROS distribution version 0.2
By releasing version 0.2 according to the author Marcus 'ALB42' Sackrow his AROS distribution "it's only 99% useless". His version is based on AROS64 before SMP was added.

The author wrote: "I added some more programs, (not only my own) the FP-IDE does work, but sadly the compilation still crash, so you have to use the shell to compile. I even got the network to work and MUIMapparium shows the map nicely and search also works". (snx) (Translation: dr)

C-A Acquisition Corp. renamed to Amiga Corporation
In 2019 Mike Battilana (Cloanto) founded the C-A Acquisition Corp. and transferred the trademarks, copyrights and Internet domains he had acquired from Amiga, Inc. to this company. So far, amiga.com didn't show anything worth mentioning, but now several Amiga-related logos and a note that these brands are registered trademarks of "Amiga Corporation" have been added to the site.

Approached by amiga-news.de, Mike Battilana confirms that "C-A Acquisition Corp." was renamed to "Amiga Corporation" but that it would remain discreet ("low profile will continue") until the [legal] issues are sorted out. He says the company is not completely inactive though, amongst other things it has been placing full-page advertisements in Amiga Future for more than a year.

Battilana pointed out to a Twitter thread which can be used for directly asking him questions about Amiga Corporation or his plans for the Amiga. (cg) (Translation: dr)

Changes in Hyperion's Management
Last summer, distribution of Hyperion's shares drastically changed when the company issued a capital increase: New shares were issued to pay debts of nearly 400000 Euros owed to Ben Hermans - allegedly for the latter's work as the company lawyer. As a result of this, the other shareholders - in additon to Timothy de Groote, who is mentioned in public documentation, Trevor Dickinson, Costel Mincea and the Frieden Brothers are said to own shares - now collectively own less then three percent of the company.

Shortly after that, Costel Mincea handed over (German) his AmigaOS 4 centric forum os4welt.de to a third party and resigned from his post as a director ("besturder") of Hyperion. The latter was not communicated publicly by either Mincea or Hyperion at the time, but with quite a bit of a delay the change in management is now recorded in Belgium's official company register (KBO, Kruispuntbank van Ondernemingen): Only Timothy de Groote is listed as a "Besturder" for Hyperion now, the request to have Costel Mincea removed as a director (PDF, Dutch) is available as well.

de Groote himself had increased his number of shares during the 2019 capital increase - albeit only by a very tiny amount, compared to Hermans' mass of additional shares. Now the author of the Amiga documents report claims on Twitter that Ben Hermans sued de Groote last November, a claim that is confirmed to amiga-news.de by a second source.

The results of this legal battle are currently unknown. There are unconfirmed rumours that Timothy de Groote, who was still representing Hyperion at the Amiga 34 last October, resigned from his post as a director in the meantime and is only listed in that position until a replacement is found. So far we were unable to either verify or dispel these rumours. (cg)
