BASIC compiler: AQB 0.8.0
By his compiler AQB, Günter Bartsch aims to implement a modern, clean, Amiga compatible and future-proof BASIC that is geared to, but no clone of Microsoft's AmigaBASIC and QuickBASIC, respectively.
Yesterday the developer has released version 0.8.0 on GitHub and has given us some notes on it:
"Actually I planned to release only a minor release with focus on sprites and BOBs, but somehow the path of development led me into another direction. BOBs and animations are now available in the runtime, but while testing I realized that I could use a debugger - so I did and now there is a 0.8.0 instead of a 0.7.4 and as a big innovation there is a real source level debugger.
The debugger is still expandable, but has all the basic functions that a debugger must have - in particular, you can insert breakpoints, examine variables and include trace outputs in the programs - the whole thing is quite useful for debugging. In the course of this, the editor was also rebuilt under the hood - so there is now a real debug console and the editor can display breakpoints and generally interact with the debugger."
As always, the author welcomes feedback, bug reports and suggestions from our readers. (dr)

New preview video: 'Creeping Me Out Hex Night' winter update
With another preview video, Michael 'Mixel' Dawes presents the current state of development of his Scorpion Engine created platformer 'Creeping Me Out Hex Night'.
Making a demo out of the winter stage was his initial plan, but there wasn't enough time for that. And so the developer presents the completed game scenes as a video update. They are to be used in the full game later. (dr)

Holly Lights: Xmas decoration for Workbench 1.3
For those who already want to give their Workbench 1.3 some Christmas glamour, Chris 'Crispy' Brenner has written a small program that conjures up a Christmas fairy lights on the screen:
Regarding how it works, the author states the following:
"When HollyLights first starts, it looks at the depth of the Workbench screen. It will then add the required number of bitplanes needed to bring the Workbench screen up to sixteen colors. It does this in such a way that is invisible to the Workbench program, so Workbench thinks it's still operating with the same number of colors it had before the program was run. This scheme has the benefit of allowing Workbench to operate faster than if it was truly in sixteen colors, but has a couple of drawbacks as well.
When the program initialization is done, and all of the graphics data is in place, then the holly and lights decorations are rendered into the main
Workbench window once every couple of seconds. Rendering is suspended when the Workbench screen is not the frontmost screen.
If HollyLights was started from a four color Workbench, then the window will be decorated with lights of four different colors: red, green, orange, and blue. If started from an eight color Workbench, then only red and green lights will be shown. This is done so as to not interfere with the eight color palette."
And on the undesirable side effects, he writes the following:
"Since Workbench doesn't know about the extra bitplanes, it will not refresh any of the graphics in those bitplanes. Those extra bitplanes are refreshed by the HollyLights program when it renders its graphics once every couple of seconds, and because of this you will briefly see some leftover graphics in a window when you move it on top of any of the HollyLights decorations. This is normal.
Unfortunately, I haven't found a system friendly way to refresh the Workbench menus, so there will always be leftover graphics in the sections of the menus that intersect with the HollyLights decorations."
On weekend a version for AmigaOS 2 should also follow. (dr)

Amiga disks on PC: DrawBridge 2.8.5 (update)
Robert Smith's project 'DrawBridge' (Disk Reader and Writer Bridge) for reading Amiga floppies using a standard PC floppy drive is officially supported since the recently released WinUAE 4.9.0. In addition, Smith has made other changes with the new version 2.8.4: Among other things, IPF and SCP files can now be written to floppy disks, HD disks are supported, and reading and writing in general has been improved.
Besides, it is possible to be placed on a waiting list: Smith sells his little board for USB Slimline disk drives for 25 British Pound plus shipping. The boards are fully compatible to Arduino Software (IDE) which enables future firmware updates.
All documents of Smith's project are available on GitHub under a free license.
Update: (21.12.2021, 05:45, dr)
Meanwhile version 2.8.5 is available which adds a warning if known applications are running that may be using the serial port. (dr)

Vampire 1200 V2 accelerator board: Availability, reviews
In summer the Apollo team had announced two new accelerator boards: the FireBird (A500/A1000/A2000) and the IceDrake (A1200). Meanwhile, a third card has been added, the Apollo Kraken V4 (Amiga 3000/4000). While the latter is announced for the fourth quarter of 2022 and the Firebird is already available, the IceDrake is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2022. It can currently be pre-ordered for 572 Euros (including fees, plus postage).
Currently available is (still) the Vampire 1200 V2:
We want to give a brief overview of how the specifications of the Vampire 1200 V2 and the IceDrake differ:

Windows: DOpus cooperation with Haage & Partner terminated
The file manager Directory Opus, originally from the Amiga and commercially continued for Windows only, which has been open source in the Amiga variant since 2012, was previously distributed by Haage & Partner (H&P) in Germany, with their support page, including a forum, still being online.
The company, which was responsible for AmigaOS 3.5 as well as 3.9 and had been entrusted with the original AmigaOS 4.0 development as well as bringing Bernd Meyer's emulator Amithlon in a package as Amiga OS XL to the market in 2001, had given up the distribution of its Amiga products in 2006.
The German DOpus support was managed by Markus Nerding, who was co-founder of H&P in 1995 along with Jürgen Haage and Jochen Becher. Now, however, he runs his own website under directory-opus.de, which is named the official German support site. In addition, all registered Directory Opus users are supposed to have received an e-mail, which we document below, stating that H&P is no longer allowed to sell the program. In fact, on the website of the Australian manufacturer of DOpus, GPSoftware, H&P is no longer linked, as a comparison of the current product page with the August version reveals (right column, upper part).
The email text reads (translated from the German original):
"Dear DOpus customers,
today we would like to introduce the new German support website at www.directory-opus.de and www.dopus.de. It is run by Markus Nerding, who has been taking care of the German translation of Directory Opus since the beginning of the Windows release. He and his team will take care of your questions about Directory Opus.
Unfortunately we had to end the partnership with our longtime German distributor Haage & Partner. They are no longer allowed to sell Directory Opus and we hope that they will also discontinue the former Directory Opus website and forum.
We are very happy about the new German support website, where you can already find first tutorials and tips. More content will follow bit by bit. Please have a look at www.directory-opus.de.
Many greetings
the DOpus team
GP Software" (snx)

MorphOS: E-Mail-Programm Iris 1.1
Recently Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek had released version 1.0 of his email program Iris for MorphOS. Now the first update is available, which contains the following changes:
- Added a Copy Messages... dialog that may be used to copy messages between accounts, local folders, etc
- Drag & drop of messages into a local folder / folder of a different account will copy messages to the destination folder
- Editing of local messages retains their original date
- Fixed a crash in case loading a list of spelling dictionaries fails
- Fixed a condition where the Outgoing Mail manager could send a single message more than once
- Improved progress reports when sending mail
- Additional heuristics when trying to determine the right extension name when saving attachments (if the sender's client did not set the correct MIME type)
- Performing an action on a large multi-selection of messages would sometimes stall forever when trying to obtain full message identifiers to act on
- Optimized a case where setting flags on a large selection of messages would cause the MUI list to perform very costly redraw lookups

Emulator: WinUAE 4.9.0
The Amiga emulator WinUAE was released today in version 4.9.0. The reason for the fact that almost 1.5 years have passed after the version 4.4.0 is given by the developers as the revision of the chipset emulation, which is also the reason for this big version jump:
- Agnus/Alice internal DMA cycle processing and RGA bus pipelining (bitplanes, copper, blitter etc) accurately emulated.
- Programmed display mode support greatly improved, for example cycle accurate horizontal blanking (even if it is changed mid-screen), badly documented BEAMCON0 bit combinations accurately emulated, previously unknown undocumented features emulated and more.
- Blitter internal logic emulation updates, for example blitter register modifications when blitter is active are now accurately emulated, line mode with B channel enabled undocumented behavior emulated and more.
- Chipset edge-cases and chipset version specific undocumented behavior emulation improved, for example Copper waiting for Blitter chipset bug is accurately emulated (which causes visible glitches and was not emulated previously), borderblank glitch if horizontal window is opened early.
- Display emulation is now from hsync to hsync (not scanline to scanline) which enables accurate emulation of left (programmed modes or blanking modified) and right border (normally visible, position where horizontal position wraps around) edge cases without extra hacks, both bitplanes and sprites. Vertical is also from vsync to vsync, for example last visible line of display can be line 0 (or even larger if special programmed mode) which wasn’t fully emulated previously. Multiple DIWSTRT/STOP regions in single scanline supported, including start/stop horizontal wrap around.
- Bitplane DMA overrun condition is not a special case anymore, all overrun conditions are now fully supported, including bitplane wrap around. Overrun can be used to create special modes that are still fully PAL (or NTSC) compatible without usual restrictions (for example it is possible to have full overscan, horizontal scrolling in 64-bit fetch mode and still have most sprites available)
- Overscan+ and Extreme display size options. Can see everything in emulation that real chipset can output in PAL/NTSC compatible modes with adjusted blanking timing when using converters like OSSC. Also OCS Denise blanking bug on first and last line is now emulated and visible.
- Audio internal timing is now accurate, for example low audio period (lower than DMA can support) interrupt and sample reload timing is now cycle-accurate.
New emulated hardware
- CyberVision 64, CyberVision 64/3D and S3 Virge PCI emulation. (S3Trio and S3Virge chipset emulation from PCem)
- Voodoo 3 (8M VRAM) PCI emulation. (Voodoo 3 emulation from PCem)
- M.A.S.T. Fireball (SCSI HD controller)
- Hardital Synthesis (SCSI HD controller)
- A.L.F.2 (OMTI HD controller)
- Combitec HD 20 A/HD 40 A (OMTI HD controller)
- GVP G-Force040 (68040 accelerator)
- GVP A1230 Turbo+ Jaws (68030 accelerator)
- Prelude A1200 clockport expander support
Updates
- JIT update (Aranym) + shift instruction flag fix.
- x86 bridgeboard emulation updated to PCem v17 x86 core.
- Recent Picasso96 multimonitor support: usegfx Picasso96 DISPLAYCHAIN is now only forced if uaegfx monitor is monitor id=0 (shared with native chipset). Previously DISPLAYCHAIN was always forced.
- ALT+Space does not anymore open WinUAE window standard menu when input is captured.
- Saving config file: Confirm overwrite if existing file is read-only.
- Do not allow opposite joystick directions at the same time (some games crash..) if mapped using Game Ports panel. It is still allowed if configured using Input panel and it was mapped to left/right/up/down events (not horiz/vert).
- Debugger updates. Configurable disassembly format, DMA debugger DDFSTRT, DDFSTOP, horizontal window, vertical window, blanking markers, full 32-bit/64-bit bitplane/sprite pointer addresses, cycle conflict info, fi command accepts assembly syntax (for example “fi trap #0”).
New features
- FloppyBridge support.
- Picasso96 v3.0+ uaegfx screen dragging and dual palette support.
- uaeserial.device CMD_WRITE with io_Length=-1, EOFMODE and Mark and Space parity support implemented.
- bsdsocket.library SBTC_GET_BYTES_RECEIVED, SBTC_GET_BYTES_SENT, SIOCIFADDR, SIOCIFFLAGS, SIOCIFBRDADDR, SIOCIFCONF, SIOCIFNETMASK, SIOCIFMETRIC and SIOCIFMTU support added.
- All Z2 DMA HD controllers are now 24-bit addressing capable by default (real world capability), checkbox option added to enable full 32-bit capability (emulation only).
- Added CD image select/eject keyboard shortcut. END+F5 = select CD image, END+SHIFT+F5 = eject CD. Statefile quick restore moved to END+F6
- Executable as a disk image mounting now supports FFS and HD disks. Uses DD+OFS if selected file fits (like previously), then DD+FFS, finally HD+FFS (if drive is HD).
- Amiga Bootblock Reader brainfile support (copy ABR package xml files to \plugins\ABR). Used when clicking “?” button in quickstart and disk panels.
- Multi monitor mode window positions are now stored to registry/ini.
- Experimental HDR mode. Supports brightness and contrast adjustment without immediate white clipping or black crush.
Bugs fixed
- Fixed HAM left border corruption if overscan HAM mode and bitplane horizontal start was earlier than current filter horizontal start.
- CDTV and CD32 CD audio playback statefile restore bugs fixed.
- A2410 emulation fixed.
- NPCap/WinPCap crash if more than 9 network devices was found.
- Fixed GDI handle leak. GUI panel change leaked 2 font handles.
- Floppy emulation rotation speed was slightly out of spec.
- bsdsocket recv/recvfrom() returning truncated data now matches Unix/Amiga behavior. Windows also returned error when data was truncated.
- OSD led font graphics is now generated from real Windows font and is high DPI aware.

- CDFS mounting used wrong character set translation functions, files with region specific characters failed to open depending on Windows regional settings.
- “Remove interlace artifacts” last line flickering workaround fix.
- Fixed empty formatted standard HD ADF creation.
- Many minor bugs fixed.
To do before 5.0. (Early 2022 – Summer 2022)
- 68000 interrupt sampling timing needs to be 100% accurate (My cputester + extra tester hardware should solve this). This is the last remaining non-100% accurate part of A500 emulation.
- Detect programmed modes that real world display can’t support. Blank emulated display when detected.
- 4.9 bug fixes.
- Possible optimizations.

Platformer: X-Mas special of 'Super Delivery Boy' (update)
Neeso Games has released a Christmas version of Super Delivery Boy: 'Super Delivery Boy - The Holiday Shift'.
In this fast-paced, Christmas-themed mini-game, presents must be delivered for the missing Santa Claus. However, the kids have their own preferences about what they want to get, and the path to them is full of strange creatures. The gifts must be picked up in the color that the children want. If you deliver the wrong gifts, you get fewer points! But you can use mismatched gifts as weapons that can be thrown against the enemies. But watch out for the colors.
The game runs on all Amigas (OCS/ECS/AGA) with 1MB RAM. However, on somewhat weaker Amigas there may be slowdowns during larger action scenes.
Update: (13.12.2021, 07:14, dr)
Yesterday version 1.1 was released providing the following changes:
- Improved performance on low end machines
- fixed a bug where enemies randomly disappear after delivering presents
- shooting the acorn will give you +5 seconds of time instead of points

Review: 'Turbo Santa' released, 'Santa Rocks' re-released
The mid-November announced arcade action game Turbo Santa from Nivrig Games has just been released for free download. Here, the player must fill in for Santa Claus, who has fallen asleep, and try to deliver the presents in time to save Christmas.
We were kindly allowed to take a look at the game in advance and jump into the fray ourselves.
The 'Jingle Bell' mix created by DJ METUNE foreshadows that this will not be a cozy little game over coffee and speculoos.
Okay: collect gifts, drop them off at a sleeping child, done. Not a bit of it! ;) Let's try it.
Haha, we have the first gift firmly in our hands, but where are the kids? As briskly as they run through the area, they seem to have exciting dreams. Not so easy now to throw a gift horizontally or vertically at a child via 'fire' key and thus deliver it.
By the way, you get a multiple bonus only if you successfully deliver the gifts without interruption: If a 'shot' misses the mark, it's gone. As you can see, there are not only bonus points to collect after delivery, but occasionally also useful tools: I was able to freeze the hustle and bustle on the screen for a few seconds and collect and deliver presents in peace. And the quick-witted Grunch, who is always snatching presents from under your nose, doesn't get in the way:
The purest blessing! You realize that this is not as easy as it seemed at the beginning. Especially not for a casual gamer like me. I'll just talk myself out of it now, that it's also sooo much more difficult with the keyboard...;)
To celebrate the release, Nivrig Games has launched a highscore contest running from December 05 to 24: The best three highscores, which can be reported at the specially created website, will win vouchers or goodies from the Bitmap Soft or Retro32 online stores.
Since we are once in the Christmas fever, we also test the re-released Santa Rocks at once.
Here, too, the Grunch is up to his mischief and tries to stop us - here again as Santa Claus in action - with an avalanche of huge snowballs. The same music awaits us, so that we are immediately caught in the 'NIVRIG' universe again:
Well, that looks a bit clearer and more peaceful...Let's go! :)
Pah! We are not impressed by a few snowballs. On the contrary: we use the initial tranquility to practice a few 'moves': At the bottom right of the screen, arrows always indicate which special tricks our Santa has in store. The arrows pointing upwards mean that we can pulverize an incoming ball by jumping forward with the corresponding key:
We can do the same by double-pressing a side arrow key. It works! However - and the instructions don't tell you this: You get the most points if you switch to the corresponding track just behind a passing snowball. A full 5 points.
However, you really have to time it exactly: If you're too early, you'll be swept away by the mass of snow... And of course it doesn't get any easier as the game progresses: the balls come sailing towards you faster and faster, and at some point at an angle. The game is immense fun, which is also immensely encouraged by the sounds of Santa Claus and the grunt. And you smile proudly when the grunch behind his barrier is annoyed beyond measure.
In my humble experience, the game is easier to play via keyboard and also has the edge with me because of the somewhat more loving graphics. (dr)

AmigaOS 4.1: Test of latest RadeonRX driver and Kernel
Roman 'kas1e' Kargin, in a YouTube video, has tested version 2.8 of the RadeonRX driver included in the recently released version 2.1 of the Enhancer software, including a not yet publicly available beta version of the kernel, in which some improvements have been made, especially for the AmigaOne X5000.
For the video comparison on his AmigaOne X5000, he used a Saphire Pulse Radeon RX 560 2Gb and eight GL4ES games he had ported over the last 2 years. The improvements and increases in frame rate (FPS) over the older v2.7 RadeonRX driver and public kernel show up in summary as follows:
- Quake3: +133 FPS.
- HCraft: +50 FPS
- Worlds: +30 FPS
- SuperTuxkart: +10-20FPS
- Foobillard++: +20FPS
- Neverball/Neverputt games: Up to +100FPS in some places, +250-400 FPS in others.
- Fricking Shark: +40FPS
- Wisp Engine: varying, in some places +100%.
As he reports "all of course still without DMA support, which should give us much greater speed increase."

Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek's Wayfarer web browser is now available in version 2.9 and provides the following changes:
- Implemented Proxy settings
- Added right mouse button override settings that make it possible to open the default context menu on websites that try to block it
- Fixed several edge cases where Wayfarer's url bar wouldn't correctly show page's url
- Added code to handle "ContentDisposition: attachment" to trigger downloading instead of displaying the target url
- Fixed 'Reload' to work after a failed page load
- Downloaded filename had 1st letter truncated in some cases due to a bug in header parsing
- Enabled USE_NEW_THEME in WebKit to change how some controls are drawn
- Default CSS tweaks to prevent invisible checkboxes/radio buttons
Required are MorphOS 3.15 and 1 GB of RAM. A CPU with at least 1.5 GHz is recommended. For feedback to the author, besides the integrated crash report tool and e-mails to wayfarer at wayfarer.icu also the corresponding thread at MorphZone can be used. (dr)

Pretty much two years ago, graphics and game designer Kevin Saunders (including Boss Machine, RESHOOT PROXIMA 3 or Menace remake) on amigaworld.net announced a tutorial for the graphics program Brilliance II for 2020.
Now he has published the first part of his tutorial as a YouTube video and PDF file linked there, mainly addressing the 'Rub Thru' tool that is exclusively available in Brilliance. According to the Brilliance II guide, 'Rub Thru' allows two buffers to be merged by combining the swap buffer with the current buffer. In October 1993, Obligement published an detailed review.
It is possible that Kevin Saunders' project will result in a book. (dr)

Cache management: Source code of 'HyperCache' released
In the late 1980s, early 1990s, Canadian-American programmer David Plummer wrote the cache management 'HyperCache'. Inspired by a user's request, Plummer now published the source code on GitHub and wants to give interested users, programmers and developers the opportunity to take a nostalgic look at program code of that time in general and in particular at the 'state of knowledge' of the author, who was still learning C at that time.
For various legal and liability reasons, the code cannot be released as free software at this time, but it is available to anyone for exploration and nostalgic tinkering. If anyone still has Lattice C installed, Plummer would be happy to know if the program can still be compiled. The Obligement website published a detailed test report on this in the early 1990s. There is also an English review in the archives, which among other things also mentions the price of HyperCache Professional 1.01B at that time: It cost US $49.95. (dr)

ModExplorerNG 3.81 for all Amiga systems
In our last news we reported about the 'final version' 3.8 of the ModPlayer developed by Jörg Renkert. Now he has made both his announcements true and on the one hand provided his audio player sorted by target systems with their own versions: The NG variant is still available for all Amiga systems, but if you use the OS3 variant you have to reckon with it running slowly on corresponding systems. Therefore he has created a separate ModExplorerCE version for AmigaOS 3 systems, which contains all important functions as well, but some, like ARexx, have been deactivated or simplified like the search function. Furthermore, with ModExplorerME there is now also a separate version for Android systems.
On the other hand, he has cleaned up some bugs in the NG version 3.8 and released the successor 3.81. (dr)

New preview video: Platformer 'Guardian - The legend of flaming sword'
In the course of our report about the last major update of the game construction kit 'Red Pill', we also gave a listing of the games currently in development with it. For the platformer 'Guardian - The legend of flaming sword' listed there as well, developer 'Yoz Montana' has now released a new preview video.
He describes the development status of the game as alpha, that of the underlying game engine as beta. The video shown ran on an Amiga 1200 with a 1230/40 turbo card. The developer also lists the progress: Use of 16 background colors instead of 4, scenery with spatial depth instead of without, 528 colors displayed simultaneously on the screen. (dr)

amiga.net.pl/bitronic.pl: Statement by Adam Zalepa
In the past, Adam Zalepa published several Amiga books and games at amiga.net.pl and bitronic.pl, respectively. Suddenly, payments and delivery of goods stopped (amiga-news.de reported). In the meantime he published a statement at exec.pl (translation from Polish into English by Konrad 'koszer' Czuba).
According to it, his withdrawal would have been dictated by personal reasons and the state of his health. His business partners would have decided to end the cooperation. His aim would be to collect all his publications, including foreign language versions, at retroguide.pl. He would be aware of his remaining obligations and would try to fulfill them with a delay or in a slightly different form than intended. If his health permits, he would plan to return to previous projects in 2022 and continue to develop them, providing most of the content for free or only for the price of covering costs. (snx)

Marcus 'ALB42' Sackrow's AmiTube enables watching YouTube videos on an 68k Amiga. To do so, they are converted to Commodore's CDXL format and downloaded (video).
Please not that conversion is executed on the developer's personal server, thus he asks to restrict oneself to few and short videos. Furthermore the program must not be shared but always be downloaded from the author's website at the title link. (snx)

identify.library: Source code on GitHub
Richard Körber's identify.library is used to identify Zorro cards and provide further details (amiga-news.de reported). While providing it at GitHub now, the source code has been reviewed and reformatted, and the comments habe been translated from German to English. Furthermore, the project is compilable on Linux (and probably other targets) now using vbcc. (snx)

MorphOS: E-mail client Iris 1.0
After about 5 years of development, the first non-beta release of Iris is now available for download. Iris is the most advanced and modern e-mail client available on MorphOS and Amiga. Iris is the only client to support OAuth2 for GMail, Yahoo and Outlook as well as the only client to support full html viewing and editing of e-mails, thanks to the inclusion of a stripped down WebKit. As a side effect, also the operating system itself obtained many innovations, including adding ObjectiveC support and Unicode support into MUI.
On the occasion of releasing version 1.0 of Iris, Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek thanks all the betatesters, translators and users who either donated to the project or sent him bugreports and logs.
The latest changes:
- Implemented IMAP SEARCH in libvmime, enabling email body text search in Iris
- Implemented editing of received emails (which will then be reuploaded to the IMAP server)
- Improved the spell checking code which often left correct words hilighted left of an apostrophe
- Rewritten search token parsing code
- Worked around display issues with email sent by broken clients (containing html/body tags and then containing more text after html closing tag)
- Fixed a crash when replying to a message without an ID
Download: iris.lha (35 MB) (snx)

Fantasy shooter: New demo version of 'Project - Quest'
In August we reported on a first demo version of the fantasy shooter game 'Project - Quest' from the Electric Black Sheep developers. This uses the 'Project Horizon Engine', which is also under development and used for the tactical shooter 'Project Horizon'.
Now some fixes and improvements have been made to the first level. For example, now smaller laggs are in movement, some map elements were added to make it more colorful (more enemies, tiles, lighting, players), skeletons can be revived and an Easter Egg was hidden. Likewise, level 2 is already in the works.
A YouTube video shows the game in action. The download, available as an ADF file or for hard disk, includes the first chapter as the first level. The game requires ECS or AGA and 2.0MB of ChipRam, of which at least 1.5MB must be free. The developers welcome feedback in the comments section of the project page. (dr)

Status update and pre-ordering for the game 'Jump'
In mid-July we reported that Polish developer Markus Duda is in the process of converting the game Yoomph, originally written for the Atari, for the Amiga. In it, you have to use a bouncing Amigaball to move around in a three-dimensional tunnel, hitting various (bonus) surfaces along the way. This YouTube video shows the gameplay on the target platform: an Amiga 1200 with 4 MB Fast RAM.
As the developer reports on his site, the work is nearing its end. The engine, the music and the game logic are ready. The graphics, gameplay and level maps are being polished. The finished game should have the following features:
- 28 levels
- 5 music tracks
- Resolution of 320x256 in 256 coliurs
- Game can be played with joystick or keyboard
An Amiga 1200 (14MHz) with at least 6MB Fast RAM is required. The game, which was originally announced for the fall, should now be available in spring 2022. Duda has now started a pre-order campaign for the boxed version: It will include the game on CD and USB. Also included is a manual and interviews with the author as well as a surprise. Jump' can be pre-ordered via PayPal or bank transfer for 45 Euros or 50 US Dollars. There are also shipping costs (DHL package) depending on the destination region:
- Zone 1 (19 Euro): Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Monaco, Portugal, Romania
- Zone 2 (17,5 Euro): Italy, Croatia
- Zone 3 (16 Euro): Great Britain
- Zone 4 (12 Euro): Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Hungary
Likewise, the game is delivered with UPS to the USA for 32 US-Dollars and to Australia for 80 US-Dollars. (dr)
