Music game for two mice: AmiSaber AmiSaber (video) is a clone of the virtual reality game Beat Saber - a rhythm game taking place "in a surrealistic neon noir environment and featuring the player slicing blocks representing musical beats with a pair of contrasting colored sabers." The Amiga port is controlled with two mices and includes all necessary information and tools for creating levels with individual music. The game is supposed to run on an Amiga 500 with harddrive but the author recommends a better setup which is not specified. (cg) (Translation: dr) [News message: 04. Game previews: Project Horizon and DaemonClaw "Project Horizon" is a "a top-view tactical action game that obviously takes place on the dark side of the moon." A preview video published in January provides a first impression of the level of development. Project Horizon will require 2 MB Chip-RAM and a harddrive. The game will be available for free including all sources and level editors. "DaemonClaw: Origins of Nnar" is supposed to become "a new side scrolling action game." The development was started on the Amiga but currently it is developed on modern platforms using the construction kit "Construct 2". The completed game then will be back ported to the Amiga. The developers of BitBeamCannon regularly publish updates and preview videos on their Youtube channel. (cg) (Translation: dr) [News message: 03. New browser for MorphOS in development Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek from the MorphOS team who recently developed the IMAP capable e-mail client Iris now is working on a new browser for MorphOS which is not a further development of Odyssey but a completely new approach based on the latest version of the HTML rendering engine Webkit. Piszczek explained that the browser will probably require 1 Gigabyte RAM and will not support video playback or the "webinspector" mode of Webkit due to the limited processor and graphics card performances of the computers currently supportd by MorphOS. Already now the project has high demands on MorphOS and the SDK, among others errors happened in the compiler and the TCP stack as well as Exec and others components had to be adjusted. Therefore public beta versions will not be released before the availability of MorphOS 3.14. In a discussion on morph.zone the developer publishes short status messages. Today for the first tima a screenshot has been published. (cg) (Translation: dr) [News message: 31. Mar. 2020, 23:55] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] |
