freeCD: Almost Real, Digital Postcard System, Racer
With 'Almost Real - The Directors Cut' (Amiga), a new CD has been released in
the freeCD series. The 'Digital Postcard System' (WWW) allows deferred sending
of holiday cards, and the CD 'Racer' (Linux, Mac, Windows) is announced for
February 2003. In case of enough interest, a port of this car simulation to
Amiga systems is possible.
Almost Real - The Directors Cut (Amiga)
This CD contains flight simulations and further material on the theme of
flying. In this version, the flight simulation 'flightcontrol' has been added.
Additionally there are now paper models of various military aircraft as well as
photos of the Airbus A320 and the Ju52.
Digital Postcard System (WWW)
This system allows to write the holiday cards already before leaving and later
have them sent automatically by the computer.
Photos of Argentine, Brazil, Germany, Mexico, Italy, Belgium, animals, general
places as well as greeting cards are included.
Furthermore, own photos may be uploaded.
Racer (Linux, Mac, Windows)
'Racer' is a simulation for cars, which very accurately simulates different
cars from the domains classics, race cars and street cars. The cars can be
tested on tracks like Indianapolis and Le Mans.
Expected release date for this CD is February 2003 for Linux, Mac and Windows.
AmigaOS and MorphOS developers interested in a conversion are welcome and may
contact freeCD.
Further information on the products as well as supply sources are accessible
through the title link.

Route planner: AmiATLAS 6 - new version for ARC 2002
The AmiATLAS Development Team writes:
"A new version of AmiATLAS 6 will be released for the Aachen show!
Although over the last months most of the remaining Amiga users have been very
reserved in their purchase behaviour, probably not least of all hoping for new
hardware, work on AmiATLAS 6 has been going on continuously...
For the show, a new edition will be released with fully updated (as per 4th
quarter 2002) and expanded data stock. Now, among other things, with the most
current touristic information and some more, like infos about number plates of
all supported countries.
That's an increase of about 200%, compared to the old version!
Not forgetting the updated map material, e.g. Germany now with the complete
Autobahn network with all clearances until end of 2002!
In the program itself, lots of reported bugs have been fixed and some
optimisations implemented, and of course, as far as possible, some users'
wishes realised. Supported languages now are German, English, French and
Italian.
The new version of AmiATLAS 6 including new improved cover design has already
been shipped in sufficient quantities to KDH Datentechnik and IOSPIRIT for sale
at the show. APC & TCP will also have some copies.
Due to organisational reasons, updates can only be shipped shortly after the
show. And of course, as always, only to registered users of AmiATLAS 6.
Please mail requests or wishes to:
AmiATLAS@gmx.net"

ARC 2002 News: AmigaOne will be shown
After it was clear that neither Amiga Inc., nor Eyetech and Hyperion
Entertainment will present the new AmigaOne at the AMIGA + RETRO
COMPUTING 2002, we started thinking about how to get an AmigaOne to
the show anyway.
The solution is an offer from Computer City.
Owner Ron van Herk provides his own AmigaOne, and the members of the
Amiga-Club im BTX & Internet
will do the presentation.
The computer on display is an AmigaOneSE-G3 with 750CXe 600 MHz CPU,
equipped with 128 MB SDRAM PC133 and an ATI Radeion 7000 64 MB SDR
VGA graphics card with TV-Out, and of course the Cherry
Cybo@rd-keyboard that's being sold by Computer City. The operating
system installed is only a Suse LinuxPPC 7.3, but it'll give an
impression of the hardware. (ps)
