Amiga freeCD: Chaos - Wizard War II
New Amiga freeCD: Chaos - Wizard War II
"For those people who like board games and for those other people who like card games, Chaos: Wizard War II is the #1 Reason to own an Amiga. It is the ultimate board game and the ultimate card game and the ultimate strategy game all rolled into one. I get Emails from PC users all the time who beg me to make a PC version because there is no game on PC as good as Chaos: Wizard War II. Amiga Rulez!"
(James Conwell, author)

You can order the CD for 3 Euro plus delivery costs from the FOM website. (ps)

New benchmarks from "Project Petunia"
The author of "Project Petunia", the 68k JIT emulator for AmigaOS4, has released new benchmarks for this emulator (title link).

Ben Hermans of Hyperion commented those benchmarks within the comments of ANN as follows:

"At a 600 mhz G3 with on-die L2 cache and a 133 mhz FSB you might expect a much higher speed than with a 150-200 mhz 060. I would guess a 300 mhz as an absolute minimum. On current PPC cards the relevant benchmarks of petunia are slowed down by several facts:

  • The 68k processor is stealing still some cycles simply because it's still "awake". Once it will be made completly slept this will result in a reasonable gain of performance.
  • Dual processor architecture with context switches and cache flushes
  • WarpOS is used and not Exec SG
All in all I guess that the emulator will reach the performance of a 060/50 as a minimum even on the slowest (160 mhz) BlizzardPPC cards. (ps) (Translation: ub)
