Do it yourself: Another solution for using an external HDMI upscaler At the title link, 'c0pperdragon' describes ways to achieve pixel-precise HDMI output of Amiga video signals instead of upconverting the final analog output signal. Besides solutions that move the RGBtoHDMI system completely into the computer, internal modifications make it possible to connect the former alternately to several computers. One possibility for this is an adapter board that is placed under the Denise chip (amiga-news.de reported). In the meantime, a second variant was added: With the DB23 hack, eight less used of the 23 pins of the Amiga video connector are re-purposed by re-soldering, to make all 12 color bits directly available without changing anything on the case. Using an adapted cable with the required pinout, the RGBtoHDMI system, that can thus be connected externally, can then upscale the picture with comparatively lower latency. (snx) [News message: 21.
