BASIC compiler: AQB 0.8.0 By his compiler AQB, Günter Bartsch aims to implement a modern, clean, Amiga compatible and future-proof BASIC that is geared to, but no clone of Microsoft's AmigaBASIC and QuickBASIC, respectively. Yesterday the developer has released version 0.8.0 on GitHub and has given us some notes on it: "Actually I planned to release only a minor release with focus on sprites and BOBs, but somehow the path of development led me into another direction. BOBs and animations are now available in the runtime, but while testing I realized that I could use a debugger - so I did and now there is a 0.8.0 instead of a 0.7.4 and as a big innovation there is a real source level debugger. The debugger is still expandable, but has all the basic functions that a debugger must have - in particular, you can insert breakpoints, examine variables and include trace outputs in the programs - the whole thing is quite useful for debugging. In the course of this, the editor was also rebuilt under the hood - so there is now a real debug console and the editor can display breakpoints and generally interact with the debugger." As always, the author welcomes feedback, bug reports and suggestions from our readers. (dr) [News message: 18. Dec. 2021, 06:18] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] | ||
