Workbench complement: BetterWB 3.0
Similar to AIAB, AmiKit or AmigaSYS, BetterWB is a collection of Workbench tools for AmigaOS 3.1 which requires low resources. BetterWB may be used by "purists that believe anything beyond 3.1 is an overbloated piece of crap, low end Amiga computers and Minimig users, that are restricted to a 68000 processor".
BetterWB works with any Amiga and is provided as disk images. Additional to the original disks of Workbench 3.1 (3.0 may be sufficient but was not tested) 8 MB harddrive memory are required.
Changes in der Version 3.0:
- Added zDir which is an enhanced Dir command replacement
- Included a clone of the popular unix dd command (the data duplicator)
- KeyPressed is a usefull command for handling keypresses in scripts
- The new icon.library is active by default (Now you can see all Amiga icons)
- The powerfull BootUte replaces NoFastMem
- Incorporated a system font cache that requires no extra memory (Fontcache)
- CopyIcon is a tool that allows you to copy and replace any Amiga icons
- MultiHelp is a commodity that comfortably allows you to view manuals, docs, and AmigaGuides
- yStart is a commodity that automatically generates a Windows like startmenu
- Reworked the default Iconset
- Plus Many fixes and minor enhancements
