Commodore USA announced "Commodore Amiga Mini" (update) In a press release licensee Commodore USA has announced the "Commodore Amiga Mini". The computer will be delivered in a silver or black Mini-ITX case made from Aluminium - it is a HTPC-ITX2 made by Wesena. The AMIGA mini's appearance is enhanced with the inclusion of the classic embedded AMIGA logo engraved in the front. The pictures presented on the website still are Photoshop manipulations and no real ones. Detailed specifications of the computer:
The delivery time will be four up to six weeks. The price for a complete system is supposed to be 2500 USD. The Commodore VIC Mini which also is a complete system with less power can be bought for 1000 USD. Update: (23.03.2012) Commodore USA chief Barry Altman has announced that "due to an overwhelming outpouring of customer comments, along with those posted on the major tech blogs, the company has listened to the thousands of requests for both lower prices and more choices, and responded today with prices and options that most respondents indicated was in line with other current offerings." They lowered the price by 500 Dollar. The cheapest configuration now is an i3-2130 (3.4 Ghz) with 4 GB RAM for 1500 USD. (cg) (Translation: dr) [News message: 21.
