Hint: Brightening yellowed computer towers with Retr0bright Christian Busse pointed out to a method how you can brighten yellowed computer towers. He wrote: A Group of Amiga computer enthusiasts think they have come up with an idea to stop ancient computers going yellow. Flame retardant plastics in computers meant that the likes of an Amiga turned yellow with age. While it has been known that Hydrogen Peroxide could stop the rot, it was not very effective. A bloke called Dave from Manchester, UK, aka 'Merlin', started a project to see if they could turn their old hardware into its old colour. Apparently a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, a small amount of an "Oxy" laundry booster as a catalyst and a UV lamp will turn a yellow computer back to its normal condition in a few hours. There is a thread on this mixture called Retr0bright on amibay.com. (snx) (Translation: dr) [News message: 22. Jan. 2010, 21:56] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] | ||
