Web Browser: IBrowse status update Oliver "Futaura" Roberts of Ibrowse team gives a short overview of the current status of the web browser in a thread on amigaworld.net: Reportedly, IBrowse is not currently purchasable, but several distributors have already shown interest. As soon as Stefan Burström, the holder of rights, has a little more time on his hands, he will attend to this problem. After the quite stressful release of IBrowse 2.4, the team initially treated itself to a short time-out, but since that time, the next version is being worked on again. David Burström has already invested much work in an OS4 port - which requires considerably more effort than one would assume at the first moment, because of the SAS/C dependency of the sources and the partial use of 68K assembler - Roberts himself is working on the completion of this version now. A CSS parser already exists, too, but the parser is the smaller problem - the still missing adaptation of the layout engine is associated with considerably more work. IBrowse 3.0 should be released as soon as possible and primarily establish a stable, expandable basis for further updates. Though this means that CSS will not be completely supported yet in this first version - it allows the team to pass on further improvements to the user faster in the form of more regular updates.
