Debian joines Desktop Linux Consortium The Debian project is one of the founders of the Desktop Linux Consortium (DLC), which has been founded recently and is registered as an organization for the benefit of the public. A current poll at DesktopLinux.com shows that Debian is one of the favorite GNU/Linux distributions for the desktop. The internal project Debian Desktop is an example of our contineous efforts to empower Debian for the Desktop. The Desktop Linux Consortium is a manufacturer neutral assossiation of comercial and organizations from the open source background which develops desktop technologies for GNU\Linux. The assossiation will assist to improve the future of GNU/Linux at the desktop and focuses at users of firms, institutions and home users.
