European Digital Rights:
An international civil organisation for the Internet
European Digital Rights (EDRi) which is an international
civil organisation for the Internet has been etablished on 8th June 2002 in Berlin.
Ten organisations from seven countries from the European Union have bundled their forces to defend the human rights in Europe in the digital era of the information and communication technology. The residence of EDRi will be Brussels.
These are the foundation members: Bits of Freedom
(Netherlands), Chaos Computer Club (CCC, Germany), Digital Rights
(Denmark), Electronic Frontier Finland (EFFi, Finnland), Foundation for
Information Policy Research (FIPR, United Kingdom), Förderverein
Informationstechnik und Gesellschaft (FITUG, Germany), Imaginons un
réseau Internet solidaire (IRIS, France), Privacy International
(United Kingdom), Quintessenz (Austria) und Verein für Internet-
Benutzer (VIBE!AT, Austria).
