Apple puts Power Mac G4 Cube on hold Apple Press information: Feldkirchen, Germany, 4. July 2001: Apple will put on hold the production of the Power Mac G4 Cube for an indefinitely time. Even though there is little chance to re-introduce this unique computer by an all around renewed model, there are currently not plans to do so. "Owners of a Cube love this computer, but most of the customers decided in favour of a Power Mac G4 mini-tower, instead", said Phil Schiller, vice president, worldwide product marketing, of Apple. The Power Mac G4 Cube, only 25% as big as a common PC, represented a completely new class of computers: the power of a super-computer in a 8-inch-cube hanging inside of a glassy casing.
