The Register: Sharp uses Intel for Linux PDA According to ´The Register´ Sharp abandons Hitachi in favor of Intel and breaks with the tradition to equip the Zaurus PDA with StrongARM. Sharp admitted this yesterday. Certainly the price was a factor in the decision as to use the Intel CPU means to save costs. The reason? "StrongARM offers lowest energy consumption and best functions," says Hiroshi Uno, leader for mobile systems at Sharp in an interview with Bloomberg. Full article at the titlelink.
