    Heise: IBM brings PowerPC for Internet Appliances »The days of 'one-size-fits-all' for PC micro processor are gone", claimed Scottie Ginn, Vize President of "Pervasive Technology" at IBM Microelectronics. Reason for this wholehearted announcement: the presentation of a system-on-a-chip solution for Internet appliances such as Web-Pads or Surf-Terminals. The so called PowerPC Internet Appliance Platform (IAP) builds on a PowerPC CPU and implements memory, LCD interfaces, as well as an Touch-Screen interface together in that chip.
