30 Years Mouse Patent Douglas C. Engelbart (born in 1925) counts as a pioneer in the field of the human to machine interface for computers and is one of the fathers of the Graphical User Interface (GUI). Maybe his most decisive contribution was the invention of the computer mouse notified on June 21st, 1967 by the Stanford Research Institute, for that the US-patent 3,541,541 was given on the November 17th, 1970 under the title "X- Y position indicator for a display system".
