Outlook Virus Warning from MSNBC Several virus warnings have clearly pointed out that Outlook is an unsecure mailing software, as in the begining opening an attachment was enough to give crackeres free entrance. A bug in Outlook and Outlook Express as well, which occures when the software trys to read malformed datefields in which a long string of GMT is written too (Malformed eMail Header Vulnerability), leads to an overflow error (buffer overflow), which then can crash the application or - and this is much more dangerous - crackers can use this for execution of any program code by sending a suitable prepared mail. Recieving such a mail is enough! Microsoft offers a patch for this problem. To use this patch the Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 1 must have been installed. [News message: 19.
