Amiga.org online again
Because of some troubles with PHP-Nuke the English speaking news
service Amiga.org had canceled the website to completely rework it.
Because it takes much time to establish a new editing system Amiga.org
is now online again with PHP-Nuke.

Chip online: Rumour: Radeon 2 available from end of July
A programmable vertex- and pixelshader will be integrated in the Radeon 2 chip.
As the french hardware magazine "Puces3D" reports will gfx-boards with the 3D-chip
Radeon 2 from ATI be available from end of July. Also it reports about some new
features of the Radeon 2 chip. So there will be six instead of four rendering
pipelines to do the job.
The pixel accelerator produced in 0.15 micrometer technology will have a clocktime
of 350 MHz. Even the Dual-Monitor-functions as used by the Radeon VE gfx-boards
will be integrated on the first boards with the Radeon 2 and offered together
with the software HydraVision.

Chip online: Graphic Chips: New Details about Kyro III
»David Harold, Press-Relation Manager of Imagination Technologies,
gave a sight on the upcoming Kyro III - developed by the code name of STG 5000 -
to the German game magazines PC Action. ST Microelectronic will integrate a
freely programmable vertex- and pixle-hader along with the also integrated
T&L unit into this pixle accelerator. This chip, which is manufactured in
0.13 µ technology, thus addresses Microsoft's DirextX-8-API
(application programming interface), as like Nvidia's GeForce3.

Sharp Zaurus.
- Dr. Alan Havemose (formerly employee of Commodore, and Gateway)

REBOL: REBOL/View V1.2.1
REBOL/View 1.2.1 has been released on June 22, 2001. It is recommended that you
upgrade your copy of REBOL/View and View/Pro to this new version.
Among other things has a security bug been fixed in this version. This
release also introduces REBOL/View for the Macintosh. This is a
significant accomplishment.
The following has been changed compared with the previous version:
- Bugfix: Icon DRAW evaluation bug that allowed foreign code to be executed
at the desktop level. That problem has been eliminated.
(Note that this bug did NOT compromise REBOL's built-in sandbox
file protection, as that protection still remained in effect at the
REBOL/View root directory level. Files outside of REBOL's directory
tree were safe.) DRAW is no longer allowed within desktop icons.
- Bugfix: The HTTP POST operation has been fixed to properly ignore line
termination in the transfer. You no longer need to pad out your
HTTP uploads. (This is for read/custom http://... [post "data"]).
- Bugfix: Bugs that caused load/markup and debase to crash in rare cases
have also been fixed.
The current version for different systems can be found in the download area of rebol.com.

Chip: Amiga: New computer and software
»With AmigaOS 4.0 and the computer AmigaOne PPC 1200, a myth will be brought
back to life within the next weeks. This was announced by Bill McEwen, CEO of Amiga,
on Thursday. The owner of the Amiga trademark warned in a press release of an
abuse of the name of the once popular home computer. According to information from
McEwen there's besides the American company headquarter only one more office in Braunschweig.«

de Volkskrant: "Tulip" reviving the Commodore brand?
It's been reported in a Dutch national newspaper that computer company
Tulip intend to bring the Commodore
brand back to life in some capacity. Tulip spokesman J. van den Berg
claims the company is simply responding to customer calls for Commodore.
Whether this means some real Commodore hardware is on its way or all it
is is simply a line of PCs with the Commodore logo slapped on the outside
is still unclear, but Dutch readers will no doubt find
this article
very interesting...!

HP brings stereos and TV-sets to the Web
»The IT company Hewlett-Packard (HP) from California, U.S.A.,

The "HP Digital Entertainment Center", to be plugged into stereo or TV-set casings, can download,

up to 750 audio CD's. It is connected to the Internet by simply pressing a button without to
