Shoot'em Up previews: Invaders (playable preview) and Inviyya (video)
Inviyya is a shoot'em up game (videos: 1, 2) inspired by R-Type which has been developed for two years. The engine was finished but according to the author still some bugs have to be fixed and diverse levels to be completed. The final release is planned before Xmas.
Invaders is a clone of the classic Space Invaders. The game has been developed for the game competition of the Retrokomp but still is not quite finished - e.g. sound is missing.

Event: Amiga Hackroom122 Meetup (27./28. October, Warsaw)
On October 27 and 28 in Warsaw the 'Amiga Hackroom122 Meetup' will take place. The first day is dedicated to the demoscene and a MorphOS presentation of Grzegorz Kraszewski. On the second day there will be workshops on AMOS and music trackers. Ticktes are available for 10 Zloty (about 2,40 Euro).

Linux distribution with Amiga design: Workbench OS
"Workbench OS" (video) provided by John Petrella and Adriano Morselli is a Linux distribution with Amiga design. The desktop Mate is changed with several themes and and a corresponding icon set based on the look of different AmigaOS versions.
Besides, the emulator FS-UAE is preinstalled (Kickstart-ROMs are not included) and the usage of Icaros under a virtual environment is explained on the website of Workbench OS.
Workbench OS is available as these different versions: The "preview" version from December 2017 as PCLinuxOS edition with RPM package manager or with DEB package system. The "stable" version was released about three weeks later and is only available as RPM/PCLinuxOS version. For this December a version based on Debian Testing was announced.

Hyperion: Graphical illustration about origin of AmigaOS customers
A few days ago Hyperion has published a pie chart on its Facebook site which illustrates from which countries all the customers are who purchased a download during the last 30 days. About three weeks ago AmigaOS 3.1.4 was released which might be a big part of the downloads:

Event: Pictures of MicroAlchimie (France)
Last weekend in Clérieux (near to Lyon) the "MicroAlchimie" took place. About 60 visitors and the Amiga traders Amedia and Relec met to celebrate retro computers. Pictures of the event now can be found on amiga-ng.org.

Amiga On The Lake: Replacement keyboards by Kipper2K
The company owners of "Amiga On The Lake", Aaron Smith and Jeffery Yoder, did finance the production of the replacement keyboards developed by 'Kipper2K' in advance and have taken over the worldwide distribution. Replacement keyboards for the Amiga 500 and 1200 will be available about Xmas, the ones for the Amiga 600, 2000, 3000 and 4000 will follow. Additional to the complete keyboards also replacement PCB membranes for repairing the A500/A600 and A1200 computers "are expected to be available after Xmas 2018".
The replacement keyboards will be sent as keyboard kits with instructions. You have to pay 189 US-Dollar for the A1200 version and ten more for the A500.

WHDLoad: New installers until 20.10.2018

Amino taking legal measures against AmigaOS 3.1.4
Yesterday, Hyperion's AmigaOS 3.1.4 stopped being available for purchase, the relevant links on Hyperions Website didn't go anywhere. Today, the company announced on Facebook that "normal online purchase services" had resumed and wished its customers "Happy 3.1.4 buying again!".
If you look closer, you'll realize that Hyperion is using a different service provider for its online sales now: until yesterday, Avangate was handling the commercial downloads for the Belgian company. Now all "buy now" links are pointing to shareit.com. The first party to point out that 3.1.4 sales had been stopped due to a cease and desist from Amiga Washington (Amino) was author of the Amiga Documents report in a Twitter posting yesterday.
We were now able to have this confirmed by several sources: behind the scenes, Hyperion management is confirming that the company - or rather, its service provider Avangate - recieved a cease and desist from Amino. As of now, it is unknown to us what this C&D is based on. But Hyperion simply switching to a different service provider and continuing to sell the product worldwide is a clear statement that the two parties disagree about the legal situation. Arcade game: AMiner
AMiner (video) is a still not quite finished, simple arcade game for one or two players. The game was written as competition entry for the Retrokomp under some time pressure. Therefore it still has little bugs.

Arcade classic: PONG 4k for the CD32
In August PoNG4 was released which is a version for four players supporting a four player adapter. Now a version for the CD32 was released as well calling itself PONG 4k and offering CD audio tracks and an intro animation in CDXL format.

AROS-Linux symbiosis: Status update on "ARIX"
The goal of "ARIX" is to run most parts of AROS on a Linux kernel. The project was started several years ago and the latest information dates from 2013. Since August the developer Michal Schulz writes regularly entries in his blog about the latest developments.

As Schulz points out in a posting (German) on amiga-news.de, his new ARIX project is using a different approach: he's no longer trying to run AROS hosted on the Linux kernel, he's now trying to create a Linux based operating system mimicking AmigaOS/AROS wherever possible. (cg) (Translation: dr)

New external PCMCIA adapter for A1200: KA02
At rastport.com an external PCMCIA adapter is introduced which places the PCMCIA card "vertically along the Amiga side, and which occupies much less place on the desk." By that you can save space e.g. for ethernet cards with cable connection. rastport.com's products are distributed via a number of dealers that are listed at the landing page of the developers website.
Note of the editor: For tower cases - in which usually external PCMCIA adapters are used - this version might be less suitable because according to the photos the port is probably higher than at an A1200 motherboard in a tower case.

Interview with Iraqi Amiga user and trader
Mohammed Abdul Raza Al–Nasah is long-term Amiga user and offers also Amiga products in his PC shop. In an interview with Amitopia he talked about the history of Amiga in Iraq - where according to Al–Nasah Commodore had a market share of about 70% at the beginning of the 90s - and his passion for the computer.
