Status update on SimpleMail
Traditionally at Christmas there has been always the usual update of the mail programme SimpleMail but at Christmas 2019 it was missing. We hasve asked the two original developers Hynek Schlawack and Sebastian Bauer.
Schlawack stated that for years he has not been involved neither in SimpleMail nor in the Amiga market at all. According to his website his current "day job is writing software that keeps a hosting provider and domain registrar running". In his spare time he has "been involved with open source software in general and the Python community in particular for a long while and I’m a proud fellow of the Python Software Foundation."
Sebastian Bauer answered that he still is working on SimpleMail. Each day he would do some minor coding but currently not Amiga specific. Furthermore he said that the changes made on the Amiga code would have not justified a Christmas update. He does not have the time to add major changes but he is going to use SimpleMail for himself which benefits the Amiga version.
Finally he said that currently he is the only developer working on the code but nobody has to fear that the development will stop. It is only proceeding at a snail's pace so he cannot tell when the next update will be released.

Video preview: Arcade game Jump!
Jump! is an Amiga port of the game Yoomp! which was released 2007 for Atari's 8-Bit computer. The Amiga port is supposed to be sold in the third quarter of 2020 by RGCD. Now a teaser video obviously shows the AGA version of the engine. The game can be also played on an Amiga 500 but then with reduced colours and a smaller tunnel. An record from December shows a previous engine which might look like the coming ECS version.

WHDLoad: New installers until 18.01.2020

MorphOS: TopTasks Screenbar plugin 1.3
TopTasks.sbar is a screenbar plugin for MorphOS showing the task which at that very moment uses most of the cpu time.
The developer wrote: "When clicked it opens a window showing the top 10 tasks currently hogging all your precious CPU time. Furthermode it can display a history of the top tasks of the last 100 seconds."
New in this version:
- Added a second list that displays the top tasks of the last 100 seconds in the PopWindow.
- Now also displays the time a task has hogged the cpu in total in an extra column in the Top10 list.
- The CPU load percentage of displayed Top10 tasks is now shown in the list title of the column.
- Added help bubbles to all prefs gadgets.

Interview announcement: Livestream with Trevor Dickinson, Saturday afternoon
On Friday and Saturday in Athlone (Ireland) the Amiga meeting "Amiga Ireland" will take place, which also Trevor Dickinson from A-EON will attend. Douglas Compton from the video podcast 10MARC ("10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast") has announced that he will stream his interview with Dicksinson on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. talking about the Tabor A1222. Via Youtube chat you can ask questions during the stream.

Future Sports: 'Killerball' for free download

Event: Amiga 35 in Amsterdam (27. and 28. June)
Five years ago on the occassion of the 30th anniversary of the Amiga the Amiga: 30 Years in Amsterdam (Netherlands). For some time there are more and more indicators that in 2020 another event will take place. On amiga35.com now a precise date is given: on 27. and 28. June it will take place.

New Amiga forums: 'Amiga Retro Brisbane' and 'Amiga Raytracing Society'
During the last days two new Amiga forums have gone online: Amiga Retro Brisbane is "an (Australian) based community of Commodore Amiga users, gamers and lovers of all things retro technology." The Amiga Raytracing Society is "the home of Amiga Raytracing enthusiasts".

Game Construction Kit: RedPill 0.7.8
RedPill is a Game Construction Kit written in AmiBlitz2, which can help developing games of diverse genres - published videos show versions of Pacman and Mirror. RedPill is compatible to AGA and ECS, the "player" requires 1 MB Chip as well as some Fast RAM.
Changes of version 0.7.8:
- All new games will be created in the projects folder. When starting the editor the main things you can do are creating a new project or loading an old one.
- Examples folder has been removed.
- Fast loading options have been added to access quickly your last loaded games.
- Mulipalette example has been added, it shows how to use two different 16 colors tilesets and 16 color sprites in a 32 color game.
- Side X behaviour has been refactored, behaviour could be slightly different.
- Anim Comp condition trigger has been implemented, it can replace Anim is and Anim is not triggers.
- Anims with loop now allow a Next Anim to be filled, when the looping anim is stopped it will play the specified next animation.
- Level being edited can now be changed in the Edit Level screen.
- If foreground and background colors chosen in the dialogs are the same the text color chosen will change.
- An issue when going back from Tiles screen has been fixed.
- Issue with Text Dialogs rendering has been fixed.

Since April 1991 David Brunet has been maintaining the "Amiga Games List". The latest update provides releases of 2019 and now has listed 13.027 games, level editors, data disks, extensions and interpreters:
- 12 448 games

- 146 game and level editors
- 103 interpreters

A-EON: A1222 Early Adopter Programme started
At Christmas, A-EON had announced pre-order registration for the limited edition A1222 Plus Early Adopter motherboard would be possible soon, now it's happening: The announced 'AAA Bundle' can now be ordered at Amigakit for 115 Euros (99 GBP) -
customers of this bundle can optionally request to be enrolled in the A1222 Plus Early Adopter programme and purchase one of the 100 motherboards available. The other initially described option - ordering an 'Early Adopter' motherboard via a 20% deposit - does not seem to be available yet.
Note from the staff: A-EON's Christmas press release lists "Enhancer Software 2.0" as part of the AAA Bundle. But the actual product description at the Amigakit store implies that (only) customers that qualify for the A1222 Early Adopter Programme will recieve a boxed edition of Enhancer 2.0. This way, the contents of the bundle would change depending on the time of purchase, and a customer would have no way of determining if he will recieve Enhancer 2.0 as part of his purchase or not.
