Print magazine: Amiga Future, issue 147 - preview and excerpts
Preview and excerpts of the Amiga Future issue 147 (November/December 2020) have been published online now at the title link. Its contents include the making of Amiga Future TV, a review of Tiny Booble and an interview with Davide Bucci.
Amiga Future magazine is available as an English and a German printed magazine and can be bought directly from the magazine's editorial office as well as several Amiga dealers. (snx)

Commodore's Amiga software for DSP support
On Commodore's unfinished A3000 successor AA3000 / A3000+ a digital signal processor (DSP) would have performed which according to the system specifications would have been used for a fast serial data communication or decoding audio streams.
The developer Eric Lavitsky responsible for the the software support of the DSP at Commodore now has made available the software to an Amiga fan for test purposes on his AA3000 replica developed by the Finnish developer 'hese'. The software may not be freely distributed but some screenshots has been taken and the extent of the software and codecs has been descibed.

MorphOS: Web-Browser Wayfarer 1.4 (Update)
Today version 1.2 of Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek's web browser Wayfarer has been released. Additional to some bug fixes, favicons, quick links and the support for WebP images has been implemented.
MorphOS 3.14 and 1 GB RAM are required. A processor with at least 1,5 GHz is recommended. For giving feedback please use the corresponding discussion on morphzone.

- Fixed file name encoding and cookie issues in downloads

AskYourAmiga - a Wolfram Alpha question machine for Amiga systems
According to the author, AskYourAmiga, in short AYA, is "a very early version of a GUI for Wolfram Alpha question machine" (Wikipedia entry). It does not find any links but right away the answer which can be also represented in e.g. graphs.
The answers are grouped into different categories and can be displayed and saved als text or image. AskYourAmiga has a MUI GUI and is available for AmigaOS 3.x (starting with a 68020 processor), AmigaOS 4, AROS (x86, x64, ARM) and MorphOS 3.x.

WHDLoad: New installers until 17.10.2020
Using WHDLoad, games, scene demos and intros by cracking groups, which were originally designed to run only from floppy disks, can be installed on harddisk. The following installers have been added until 17.10.2020:
- 2020-10-12 updated: Apple Hunt (Ecthelion) corrected install icon (Info)

MorphOS: e-mail client Iris 0.94
Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek's "Iris" is going to be the standard e-mail client of MorphOS. It supports IMAP and is able to display as well as create HTML e-mails.
Beta version 94 adds minor crash fixes in autoconfiguration and updated libs. The plan now is to migrate to the Wayfarer core as soon as Wayfarer has the same feature coverage (read: printing). For feedback to the developer the corresponding thread at MorphZone can be used. (snx)

Promotion video: AGA platform game 'Wiz - Quest for the Magic Lantern'
At the beginning of the year, the former developer and publisher Adrian Cummings ("Mutation Software") returned and additional to some of his old games he also announced a new platform game called "Wiz".
Meanwhile a promotion video of the game has been published which also shows some scenes from the game. According to the developer the game is supposed to be released on 5th December. The game can be purchased on disk or USB stick for 16 UKP (about 17,60 Euro) as well as download version for 10 UKP (11 Euro).

On amigaland.de with permission of the holder of rights, Mirko Engelhardt releases software which formerly was commercially sold.
Recetly three games of the Belgian Peter Verswyvelen has been added - Ziriax, Deliverance and Zarathrusta -, the Airbus-A320 simulations of Rainer Bopf and many games of the Italian publisher Simulmondo including all sports games for the Amiga.

Retro Games Ltd. implies production of an "Amiga (Mini?)" for 2021
In 2018 Retro Games Ltd. introduced the TheC64 Mini and TheC64 Maxi (German) as two ARM-based Linux computers. A THEVIC20 also is in work - there were also rumors that the British company is working on an Amiga replica.
On the Facebook site for 2021 a
new product has been announced: The computer only is shown as black outline but reminds of an Amiga 500. Further information are not available.

Tetris clone: Teserae
Originally the Tetris clone Teserae was written for the Atari ST which at the beginning of the 90s was ported to the Amiga 500 in order to learn it. Now the game is available under the title link. According to the website the game runs fine on an Amiga 600 as well as on an Amiga 1200.

ATnoX: ATX power supplies for Amiga (update)
The Amiga 1000 (and, depending on additional hardware usage, also the Amiga 2000 and 3000) require a so-called tick signal not provided by ATX power supplies. It is a 50 or 60-Hz reference signal for the video chipset. ATnoX is an open source board for using ATX power supplies on the Amiga which adds this signal.

Additional information regarding the Amiga 2000 and 3000. Both mainboards can be configured to generate the tick signal from the clock rate instead (like those Amiga models with integrated keyboard do). This jumper setting reduces accuracy, though. Thus for certain applications, e.g. genlock usage, also these big box Amigas do require a power supply providing the tick signal. (snx) (Translation: dr)

Amiga emulator for Mac OS: vAmiga 0.9.13.2
Dirk Hoffmann's "vAmiga" is a new Amiga emulator for MacOS computers emulating an A500, A1000 or A2000. Changes since our last news item:
- Fixed a bug that caused the DMAEN bit in DSKLEN not to be cleared under certain circumstances (Ruff 'n' tumble, Knightmare)
- The screen recorder no longer crashes if an invalid aspect ratio is specified
- The screen recorder accepts custom video bit rates now
- Fixed a severe sprite sequencer bug that was introduced in v0.9.10.1
- Fixed a bug that made snapshots unusable in v0.11 and v0.12
- Fixed a bug in the sprite collision logic (Gravity Force)
- Video capturing support has beed added (requires FFmpeg to be installed)
