Preview video: Shoot'em Up Hyperblaster (Inviyya 2)
At the end of last year, we reported about Michael 'Tigerskunk' Borrmann's announcement to write a successor for his shoot'em up 'Inviyya', released in spring 2021. Now he has published a new preview video of the Amiga 1200/Amiga 4000/CD32 version. As he wrote, "collisions are off, it's still a bit glitchy, no sound at the moment, but you can see where this is heading to". He is going to demonstrate the game at Amiga37. (dr)

DIY project: ATX power adapter for Amiga 500 tower project
'wiretap-retro' has developed an adapter for its Amiga-500 tower project, which is attached to the motherboard or another suitable place in the case via two spacers. It allows the connection of a standard ATX power supply and provides a 4-pin molex connector (for the Amiga 500 power connector) and 3 standard fan connectors for 12V fans. The project is open source and can be modified as desired. (dr)

Video tutorial: Configuration of DrawBridge under WinUAE
Robert Smith's project "DrawBridge" (Disk Reader and Writer Bridge) uses like the similar ADF Drive a microcontroller - in this case an Arduino board - to read and write Amiga floppies with a connected standard PC floppy drive. By means of the plugin FloppyBridge WinUAE is also officially supported since version 4.9.0 (amiga-news.de reported).
In his latest video Robert Smith takes you step by step through the setup of the FloppyBridge plugin in WinUAE. Starting with the installation of WinUAE followed by the configuration and explanation of all FloppyBridge options. (dr)

Debugging tool: PatchWork 1.0
More than ten years after the last version 0.17, Richard Körber has released version 1.0 of his debugging tool PatchWork today.
Similar to MuForce and Mungwall it ensures that calls to AmigaOS libraries are AutoDocs compliant. Illegal parameters (e.g. NULL where a pointer is expected) are reported. PatchWork helps to make program code more robust and future-proof.
The source code was previously closed. Richard Körner has checked and reformatted the files and made the project compilable with vbcc on Linux (and probably other systems). The source code is now open for everyone to contribute, study, etc. Changes:
- After 25 years, I guess PatchWork is finally due for a major version bump.
- Now built on Linux using vasm.
- Checks AmigaOS V40 calls. Actually, the only check that needed to be added was graphics.library/WriteChunkyPixels.
- DISPC is now the default behavior. Use the new option NODISPC to explicitly disable PC disassembly on PatchWork hits.
- Bugfix: intuition/SetPointer() hit output was incorrect (reported by @Hagbard-Celin). This bug was there since 1997.
- Correct library name is shown even if A6 is not pointing to the library base.
