Screenshots of the Tao Video from the Tech Head Stories website
For you Amiga users who weren't able to check out the Java streaming video
Roger B. Wyatt put up at the Tech Head Stories site, yours truly (James Russell
here at Amiga.org and AmigaNation News) has compiled these shots so you can
get a first, agonizing glimpse of the futuristic interface that will be Amiga.
The shots look awful, but they're the same quality as the video but double the
size. One day soon we can look forward to seeing the real thing! Maybe at the
March 1 St. Louis meeting? We can but hope.
I had a look at the video. Nice stuff like transparent / color filtering windows,
and some reassuring talk with one of the Tao Group. They seem to be very serious
about Amino / Amiga, although I think a number of 100,000 to 200,000 (active)
Amiga developers is somewhat overestimated... (mb)

The Plague online - update
We have updated the "old-stuff" section of our pages. Many older programs are now available,
partially including source code. Some of these programs have never been released, and are in a
very early state of completion. Perhaps there are people out there willing to continue the work.

Hacker attack on Cyberdyne Systems
On February 13th, 2000, hackers have manipulated the Cyberdyne Systems homepage. Several files have
been deleted, the start page and the logo of Cyberdyne Systems have been replaced by modified
versions. On calling "http://WWW.CyberdyneSystems.de/" or
"http://WWW:CyberdyneSystems.de/index.html", a logo with a crossbar and the following text was
displayed: "Cyberdyne Systems has cancelled all activities. We thank all users for their support."
This is of course not true. Cyberdyne Systems has NOT canceled its activities. The projects
"HSMathLibs" and "stormamiga.lib" will be continued (details about them soon). By manipulating
the homepage, an automatic security system has been trigered which deleted all important files
(e.g. registrations) and closed all subdirectories before the hacker gained access to them. Due to
this, all affected files showed "ERROR 500 - Internal Server Error". This error message was also
shown for all domains handled by Cyberdyne Systems. In the AMIGA area, this affected the
AmigaClub Leipzig e.V. We are sorry for this problem, which was not caused by ourself. In the
future, we will check the system more frequently to avoid trouble like this.
Except for the Cyberdyne Systems homepage, everything is up and running again. We are
working on solving this problem ASAP, and process all recieved registrations. We ask for
your patience.

Video conference with Bill McEwen cancelled
The Live Interactive Video Conference with Bill McEwen attending, announced for March 1st by GAC (Gateway Amiga Club, Inc.)
has been cancelled:
Press Rlease
Amigan-St. Louis
Bill McEwen - "Live Interactive Video Conference" on March 1
February 4, 2000
Fellow Amigans,
We are happy to assist the Gateway Amiga Club, Inc. in bringing
you Mr. Bill McEwen in...
"Live" from the Gateway Amgia Club"
GAC's meeting will be Wednesday March 1, at the Ladue Horton Watkins
High School Videio Lab. It is located at 1201 South Warson Rd, in
Ladue, MO. The meeting starts at 7:30 PM, with the conference
starting at 8 PM CST.
Mr McEwen will discuss the "OS for the 21st Century" and
demonstrate some "new stuff". This is a meeting you won't want
to miss.
The interactive nature of this conference, will allow the speaker to
view his audience as they view him. Viewers can even ask questions
when their site is selected for viewing.
Amiga Clubs interested in viewing this live interactive video
conference" should go to GAC's web page at:
http://www.icon-stl.net/~amiga
and click on the "Amiga News" link. There you will find the
details of how to apply for the conferences link.
We suggest that clubs attempt to find video conferencing
equipment at their local high schools, colleges, or businesses
to keep their costs down. It is possible to rent Kinko equipment,
but costs can be higher than most clubs can afford.
Due to the video sites needing possible on-site approval, we will
need to have your request no later than February 14. Please
remember to fill out the form on the GAC website.
See you on the Big Screen,
Bob Scharp

Fusion V3.4 (68K) released
Blittersoft announce new Fusion 68K upgrade
All Fusion users (and those anxiously awaiting the pending PPC release) will
be pleased to here that we have a new upgrade to the 68K version. This release
confirms the continued commitment to the 68K Macintosh emulation, but also
provides a number of improvements and enhancements.
Fusion 68K V3.4 is the final upgrade before the release of the PowerPC
upgrade, which is nearing completion.
Changes to V3.4 (since last full release, V3.1)
- Added ICP Transfer Priority. You can now specify the priority the Mac
runs at while the drives are accessed from the Amiga side though ICP.
- Fixed OpenDevice problem with ethernet.
- Fixed ethernet query bug.
- Added TD64 support. A partition that is partially or completely above the
4G point will cause FUSION to fail to start if TD64 support is not available.
Partitions are still limited to 4G in size.
- Added support for block sizes other than 512. Up to 64K valid.
- Fixed ICP MacBinary file copy hang.
- Auto-start doesn't auto-quit if you change the ICP or cpu settings.
- Added tooltype and cli switch for specifying parameter ram file.
- Changed ethernet from software loaded to a hardware card for Open Transport
support. Cleaned up ethernet for better Amiga ethenet card support;
Ariadne card now works.
- Fixed cursor problem with old Lucas Arts games.
- Fixed problem with QD based video drivers.
- Fixed slight problem with autosense SCSI data.
- New ADB drivers with (nearly) all Mac keys mapped.
- Added tooltype support; switches from cli now have Workbench tooltype equivalents.
- Auto-start now also implies auto-quit
- Changed 060 initial settings; now starts with only SuperScalar off.
- Fixed miscellaneous problems with the interface related to the auto-iconify feature
(Tall thin windows on WB fixed).
- Fixed Timer interrupt bug that prevented QueBase from playing.
- Added support for a couple more ROMs.
- Updates to video drivers.
- Updates to RsrvCold, and RsrvWarm which is now called RsrvKick.
