GFX-BASE: Interview with Marcin Kielesinski
Via the title link you will find a GFX-BASE interview in English with Marcin Kielesinski, the programmer of MungMem and the recently released 'Sherman Blanker'. This blanker is based on a comic-strip series, which was published in 150 daily newspapers. The first version of this blanker was originally programmed for the PC. But thanks to Marcin Kielesinski this funny blanker, which supports AGA as well as graphic boards, can now also be used for Amiga.

At the weekend GFX-BASE is going to publish the review of PuzzleBOBs, which Sebastian Brylka and Olaf Koebnik were kind enough to make available. (ps) (Translation: sr)

... A historical moment ... (update)
This evening, on the 20. February, there is a moment for one minute which has been only one time, more than thousand years ago!!

Two minutes after 8 pm we will have the following date:

20:02 20.02.2002

This is a register with a perfect symmetry and is called "Palindrom".

This has been happened at

10:01 10.01.1001

more than thousand years ago. This will not happen any more because the maximal digital marking of a day is 23:59. On 30.03 3003 this will not be possible because we do not have 30 hours!

See you!

Peter Glauser
CEO / Manager
webware.ch GmbH

Addendum:
Lizard has pointed out in a commentar that there is another Palindrom on 21:12 21.12.2112 - but this will still last a while :) (ps) (Translation: dr)

Update of the programm apus_start for SuSE Linux PPC
Under the title link there is another update of the programm apus_start for SuSE Linux PPC. The programm has been functionally completed. I would be glad about your feedback.

Whats new:

  • English menu updated
  • Update-Function added
(thus you can update from an older version)
  • Output of a protocol file
  • Minor bugs fixed
We also plan to create an Init-Ramdisk-Image for APUS. The Ramdisk are supposed to help to fix the problems with SCSI which still exist with the original Ramdisk of SuSE with some configurations of computers. (ps) (Translation: dr)

Game: Freespace Update for PPC and 68k
There is now an update for the full version of Freespace available at www.hyperion-entertainment.com (title link).

We released yesterday an update (both PPC and 68k versions) for the full version of Freespace. This update adds some new explosion sound effects to the game, additionally the mouse control and the CD32 Joypad Control was enhanced. Also the AlphaTexture settings for the Warp3D Renderer of Freespace are now always configured correctly, so that Voodoo 3 owners do not need to set the Alpha manually. The update is for download for registered users of Freespace for AmigaOS. There are two seperate archives, one for PPC, one for 68k. (ps)
