ToT: Exchange of experiences with programmers and musicans wanted
Martin Wolf wrote:
Because of a exchange of experiences we are urgently looking for an Amiga-programmer who is experienced in StormC gcc especially in the optimizing and who can help us a little bit.

Tales of Tamar has been ported to gcc. Unfortunately not everything works fine as it should after it has been started to optimate. Each help is welcome!

Besides this we are still always looking for somebody who wants to create cool Amiga moduls for ToT (Digibooster or Soundtracker-format). These moduls are not a must but they are a funny extra (besides the main soundtrack). (ps) (Translation: dr)

GFX-BASE: DiamondBOX special - new version and Q&A session
On our GFX-BASE we have created a special service about the new version 1.50 of Nikolaj Kiær Thygesen's painting program DiamondBOX. DiamondBOX is a painting program like Photogenics which offers all 'big features' of commercial painting programs but which is for free!

Just for GFX-BASE Nikolaj has written an English spoken Q&A for the new version. There you will learn all important news of DiamondBOX and much more. You can also download the new version from our site.

But there have been some changes on our website at all - we work on a forum and the link list has been also reworked. (ps) (Translation: dr)

Tool: FSwatcher version 1.3
There is a major update for FSwatcher which contains many new features and one bug fix. FSwatcher is the name of FileSizeWatcher and therefore looks for the size of a file. For instance if you download a file with a program which has not a transfer window FSwatcher shows you how many bytes have been already transfered. You can use this program also with the file-sharing program Audiogalaxy Satellite.

Download: FSwatcher.lzx

Version 1.3 (16/17.05.02):

  • FIX: Fixed the automatically closing of the finished requester
  • NEW: You can now set the env-var 'FSwatcher' to your default args. It will be parsed before the commandline is parsed. Therefore all /S shell args are now /T args, if you want to set a /T arg you have to put a "ON" or "YES" after it, and if you want to unset it, you have to use "OFF" or "NO"!
  • NEW: New shell arg QUIET/T [suggested by jah] Should ALL error requesters be suppressed? Well the "Dos.ReadArgs() failed!" isn't suppressed;-)
  • NEW: New shell arg BPSBar/T Should a small gauge showing the current bps relative to the max bps be displayed?
  • NEW: New shell arg TimeOut/N If a transfer is stalled (-> the "---" display) AND AUTOEXIT/T is used, the window will close after 'TimeOut' seconds. Defaults to 10. You can use values from 0 to 30. 0 means, no timeout.
  • NEW: New shell arg Delay=UpdateDelay/N Update the display every x seconds. Defaults to 2. You can use values from 1 to 10.
  • NEW: New shell arg KB=ShowKBytes/T If the current size and the filesize should be displayed in "kb", then you should set this argument to ON or YES,
  • NEW: the window doesn't gets activated when its opened

Amiga Club Guide

Amiga Club Guide Updated
To offer users the possibility of finding Amiga clubs in their area, Matthias Muench has established the Amiga Club Guide. Active clubs, societies and user groups in Germany are sorted geographically.

The Club Guide has been brought to an up-to-date state and refined somewhat. The IRC lists were removed, because there was not too much interest in that. At this time there are 36 clubs with 847 members registered in the guide.

Through this form you can enter your own Amiga club, society, or user group. (ps) (Translation: dm)

Workshop to Photo CD Making Opened
The making of a CD32-bootable photo CD was possible until now only with many special conditions. The program CD32Show has addressed this deficiency and now you can build a collection of your most beautiful pictures with only a few steps.

To make this easy you'll find a workshop specially covering the topic at the CD-32 Allianz homepage, a workshop that leads you through the steps to make such a bootable photo CD: the LISTFILES, the startup-sequence, as well as how to burn the recordable CD-ROM.

This workshop should also be interesting to non-CD-32 Amigans who want to use the program "AutoRunNG" to run such a CD on normal Amigas. We wish you all good success in the making of your personal photo CDs! (ps) (Translation: dm)

Because of many inquiries about an OS4 version of Digital Almanac (DA IV) I brought the FAQ-page up to date. There I answer the most common questions about Digital Almanac and OS4.

From the 7th to the 9th of June 2002 all interested/nosy people are welcome to find out about the program at the computer party of Amiga-Friends of Pfalz in Mutterstadt near Ludwigshafen from the author personally. On request there will also be presentations, so interested people will be able to get an insight into the actual state of development of the current beta version. (ps) (Translation: dm)

News on the Status of Project Crashsite
The webpage of Project Crashsite has been updated. The screenshot area has preview pictures, so even modem users can risk a look, without having to load all the full-sized pictures.

But not only the webpage has changed:

1) Our search to replace to loss of our designer has come to an end, and we'd like to welcome Sue to our team. Sue will be drawing the characters of our game. 4 examples of Sue's work may be viewed in the screenshot area.

2) The battle routine has been changed to a new design, and now runs completely with 16 bit graphics. Two new screenshots show the new interface, which is now offered during battle.

Our team is complete again and the guidance of the battle is now meeting the standards of quality we have always sought for the game. (ps) (Translation: dm)
