CD32/CDTV-Emulator for Windows: Akiko Version 1.6
Akiko 1.6, the CD32 & CDTV emulator for Windows was just released on the Airsoft Softwair homepage (title link). This version can run more games and the compatibility was increased. Additionally this version contains now a cover archive with more than 160 covers for CD32 and CDTV games (of course they've been prepared to be displayed in the Akiko GUI). Therefore there are now two different versions of Akiko for download: One version that contains all the covers (8 MB) and one version that comes without covers (1.5 MB). Akiko 1.6 can now be downloaded from the Airsoft Softwair web page.

Please have also a look into the documentation because the author need to buy some CD32 games and he still need some CDTV games for Akiko. (ps)

Inutilis Website new layouted
The netsite from Inutilis Software has been new layouted. There has been added the freeware program "PalettenTool", which might be interesting for Inga developers. With that and another additional graphic program (e. g. PPaint) there is the possibility given to calculate 24 bit graphics down to 8 bit including the option to define a part of the colour pallette by yourself (e.g. for a inventary bar).

Furthermore the online shop has been relaunched. Until now there are no new products but there are plans... (ps) (Translation: ub)

Offer for free hosting of Amiga related (not commercial) sites
We are running our servers on a true T3 now, so we have plenty of bandwidth and space available. If anyone has Amiga content related sites that they need hosted, I would be willing to offer free hosting on one of our machines to them. There really are some nice sites out there that are endangered of going away due to cost issues..

For such a small, dedicated community, this shouldn't ever have to be an issue.

Our servers have PHP4, Perl5, Rebol View/Core and MySQL installed, so all of the above are available to you.

So if anyone needs a content site (e.g. non-commercial site) hosted, we can arrange this with you at no cost to you. This applies to Morph, AROS, Rebol, and Be related sites too.

If interested, e-mail LotR@merlancial.com.

This is my way of giving some back to the Amiga community..

I've personally almost given up hope of anything real out of A.I. now, as they are even in debt to me for a large sum of money...but as far as the Amiga community is concerned, I have better hopes. You truly are a bunch of wonderful colourful individuals who I have always loved working with. It's a shame we haven't made as great a comeback as I would have hoped... (ps)

IRC: BenderIRC Update V1.b12 with smiley icons
The IRC client "BenderIRC" now comes with a new graphical feature. It replaces the smileys commonly used in chats like :-) with little icons. The character sequences to be replaced can be defined freely, as can the corresponding graphics. Thus other texts can be replaced with graphics, too, so one is not limited to smileys.

The first set of icons is already contained in the BenderIRC archive, but can also be viewed on the newly designed web site.

Amiga Arena: Interview Alfred Faust (BarsnPipes), PuzzleBOBS GFX manual
An interview with Alfred Faust (further development of BarsnPipes) and a German manual for creating graphics for PuzzleBOBS have been published on Amiga Arena.

Interview with "Alfred Faust" (BarsnPipes)
Thanks to "Alfred Faust", "BarsnPipes" users are pleased about the steady further development of the multimedia MIDI sequencer "BarsnPipes" Amiga since 2001.

In the very detailed interview with "Amiga Arena", "Alfred Faust" not only talks about the future of "BarsnPipes" but rather more goes into detail about the advantages and possibilities of the program and tells how the release of the sources came about.

The interview is available in German.

PuzzleBOBS GFX manual
The German manual for the creation of custom graphics for the game "PuzzleBOBS" is online.

Thus you have the possibility of making your own backgrounds and game characters.

Unfortunately not all sections of the manual have been translated yet, so please contact Olaf Köbnik if you would like to take on that task.

It would also be nice if some users have fun in creating new level designs. (sd) (Translation: cb)
