Warp3D V5 becomes NOVA
Hans-Jörg Frieden from Hyperion Entertainment states on the AmigaOS 4 mailing list: "Warp3D will be named 'NOVA' on OS 4 (Ami3D on AmigaDE). The initial release will still be Warp3D V4.x. The original plan called for Warp3D V5 to be delivered with OS 4, but that was at a time where we where to do Warp3D and OS 4 would come from someone else :-) In the final NOVA
release, we'll include developer guides, tutorials and example source
code, and hopefully one or two bigger show-off demos with source code."

Event: AmigaMeeting Nord in Bad Bramstedt 18th-20th Oct 2002
Thorsten Mampel writes:
The Amiga-Meeting Nord will this year again take place in Bad Bramstedt from 18th-20th October 2002.
Details about the event can be gathered from our home page
where you can also register.
Contrary to the previous years we are planning to build up an RJ-45 network. If
you are coming with your computer, please take along a cable of min. 5m length
(NO crossover cable), longer cables are welcome.
Two 8 port hubs and a 16 port hub will be supplied. If you want to bring
another hub you are welcome to do so to keep cable lengths short.
A BNC connection can be provided for those without an RJ-45 equipped NIC (e.g.
Hydra).
The popular hard and software exchange will be reworked completely and can be
utilised from every computer in our LAN. There will be a computer for daily
visitors without a computer which can be used to surf for free and take part
in the exchange.
We will announce details about attending companies/guests and further planned
activities shortly.
Best regards
Thorsten Mampel
1st Chairman Amiga-Club Hamburg e.V.

Event: AONE Gothenburg 2002 - Report by SlimJim (Update)
SlimJim has published a report
about the AONE Gothenburg 2002 event in Gothenburg, Sweden on amiga.org.
This one contains further information as compared to Johan Rasten's
report.
Hyperion have completed PPCBoot. Thus the rest of the developer boards (several
hundred) can be shipped.
PPCBoot has been created by order from outside of the Amiga market and means
additional earnings for Hyperion.
Stefan Burström held an (improvised) speech about IBrowse V2.3.
This will mainly be a bug fix. New features such as CSS will only be included
from IBrowse V3.0 - which will be PPC native.
According to Stefan Burström, MUI will be part of AmigaOS 4 and in the default
settings will be a Reaction lookalike. (sd)

Datatype: akPNG V45.3
Andreas Kleinert has published version 45.3 of his akPNG Datatype on Aminet.
This version works with 68k Amigas including UAE and Amithlon.
The Datatype uses the current PNG source codes (zlib V1.1.4, libpng V1.2.4)
and thus supports PNG files with up to 48 bits of colour information. These
48 bits are being reduced to 24 bits.

Flash: Swfplayer V1.2b
Alexandre Balaban has published version 1.2b of his standalone Shockwave player 'Swfplayer' on Aminet.
The player is based on Olivier Debon's libflash for Linux.
This update is a quick rebuild of Paul Hill's version of the player in order to make use of the newest libflash version.
This version should have solved the problems with other CPUs than 68040 and the crash upon quitting the player. Apart from that, this version is in no way to be considered a bug fix, the emphasis lies solely in the use of the newest libflash version.
The player works on CPUs from 68040 and from AGA (i.e. also on GFX cards).

Printer: Epson V40 update by Hutchison will not be released
The update of Peter John Hutchison's Epson V40 printer driver will not be
released. The reason for this is that his Epson printer has gone faulty (colour is not dispensed correctly), and he will probably switch to an HP printer.
Yet if somebody is interested in this driver, as far as it has been tested,
they can turn to Peter John Hutchison via eMail
(PJHutch@blizzard.u-net.com).
He also writes:
"I am not sure what AOS 4.x Printer support will be like, and it will be
unlikely that I will be developing for it either. TurboPrint seems far better
anyway." (sd) (Translation: cb)

Tales of Tamar: MorphOS beta tester wanted, shipping delay
Eternity Computer are looking for a beta tester to test Tales of Tamar
under MorphOS. Interested persons may apply to
eternity@pride.de.
From the Tales of Tamar web site:
"Tales of Tamar is completed. Boxes, manuals and CD-ROMs have been
manufactured. Unfortunately, the cardboard boxes are faulty.
The print on them is 2.5mm off. Since we had the boxes especially made to have
a high quality product, we negotiated with the manufacturer and they agreed to
do a new, better production run. But this also means that it will take another
two weeks until the game is ready to ship."
