"Return to Witchwood" by Bjorn Lynne released
Bjorn Lynne has announced the release of his new CD, "Return to
Witchwood". The CD can, earlier than originally planned, be pruchased from now on at the online shop
of Lynne-Music by the title link as a single disk or bundled with other CDs.
Orders befor August the 10th will be signatured by the composer.
As the successor of "Witchwood" this fantasy music album offers the expected chilled tunes. The website
offers several extracts from different tracks.

Mac: Northland getting closer to release
The Apple Macintosh version of Northland is very close to completion now.
The game has been in betatesting for some time now. "Northland", which was
developed by Funatics Software for the PC is ported to the Apple Macintosh
and other platforms by e.p.i.c. interactive. The Mac version will require at
least a G3/350 with 128 MByte RAM and OSX. A OS 9.x version will also be
supplied on the CD but the memory requirements are not 100% known yet.
"Northland" for the Macintosh should start shipping from the middle of
August 2003 and preordering from our webstore will start next week, when the
demo version of Northland for the Mac will be launched.

The MorphOS version of Northland should go beta very soon. A demo version for
the Pegasos and MorphOS can be expected in August.

Poll about the 3D map for Tales of Tamar started
Some days ago Eternity gave a
status update
of Tales of Tamar and pointed to the
planned 3D map (Snapshot).
Within the comments there were surprisingly little feedback about this map.
To give Eternity the possiblity to get an overview about the interest on such a map
we started a poll regarding that map.
Please vote only if you bought ToT already or if you will buy it definitely (maybe if there is such a
3D map). Thereforeso: Please don't hesitate to vote because for a programmer nothing is worse than
ignoring his work.

Jocke 'Zerohero' Sjöblom has owed his website to new MUI classes. Whenever there is an update or a new
version in area, the info regarding it will be to find at this website.
For example in July 2003 the MCC_TheBar class has been updated several times.
Currently the version 16.0 is available for download.

New Payback GBA Status Report
A new progress report on the GBA version of Payback has been posted
here.
This update talks about the performance and presentation improvements that
have been made to the game over the last month, in particular the addition
of a "bloom blur" effect and the dramatic optimisation of the audio mixer.
It includes four new screenshots and a video clip of the game's improved
pause mode.

G4: A few ammount of Pegasos I April 2 G4 available
The first processor card to upgrade the Pegasos is available now.
Thank to the flexible, upgradable and open architecture of the Pegasos Genesi
offers a G4 upgrade which will lead you to the next step of computer experience.
For the Pegasos are
processor cards
with a Motorola 7447 CPU which operates with 1 GHz and more available now.
The 7447 is the newest PowerPC processor of the fourth generation
(G4) by Motorola, which offers an increased performance compared to the recent
processor generation (G3). Additionally to a bigger cache the
7447 offers more pipelines, an improved front side bus (FSB) and, most important, an SIMD unit called Altivec.
Altivec offers a special on-chip vector engine, which is capable of operate more than one Gflops (one billion
floating point operations per second) but is still affordable for an average user.
There is a few ammount of Pegasos-1/April-2 boards with this G4 card available for
EUR 499.- (excl. VAT). If you are interested in one of these boards please feel free to contact

individual Computers: Retro Replay sold out
Retro Replay is a clone of the popular Action Replay for the C64. The
cartridge was made in October 2001 at a very limited quantity, which is
sold out now.
The last cartridge from the mass-production and an early prototype from
March 2001 are now offered in an eBay-auction. Since the announcement of
RR-net, a networking card for the Retro Replay, we had strong demand for
the cartridge, and many people asked for a new production run.
Unfortunately, the cost, and therefore the risk, is very high, because
we'd have to produce several hundred cartridges in order to keep the
price of 50,- EUR. Therefore, the interest in the auction will determine
if a new production run will happen:
As announced in the product description, we're sponsoring the "Retro
Replay Party", it will take place in September this year. Details
will be published shortly, but we can already say that there will be
plenty of free beer. Nice detail of the party location: It's an air-raid
shelter from World War II, which has no windows. Neither 2000, nor XP ;-). (nba)

StartMenu: Pixload Version 4.1d
Version 4.1d of 'Pixload' released. By using 'Pixload' you can start programs or scripts by clicking on an icon. Therefor the program uses MUI. So RxMUI 32.8 is needed in order to use 'Pixload'.
'Pixload' is available for Amiga as well as for MorphOS.

Web server: gW3S v2.1 bug fix available
Some of you might have experienced trouble with gW3S version 2.1.
There was a bug in the fancy-files unescaping which affected the way XGI scripts was executed (resulted in a 404 or other error).
This is now fixed.
I would also like to announce the opening of the gW3S Discussion Forum where you can get in touch with other gW3S users, and the gW3S development team. Everything can be found here.

The second expenditure of the Amiga demo scene diskmags Saxonia
appeared recently. Concerning the articles a clear quality increase is
to be noticed. The diagrams and the liking engine are unfortunately

Soms3D news
The "Anime development for Amiga" team reports that a mailing list for
all prospective customers was established now. One can register oneself
over the main side and post questions and suggestions there.
Furthermore the Somspage was completely redesigned. The developers made an Engine-Testvideo (4.5 MB) available depicting the Dunkle-Engine.

Pegasos hardware meeting in Hamburg
On 1st August 2003 AmigaClub Hamburg
and AmigaClub Schleswig-Holstein
are holding a hardware meeting in Hamburg. The meeting targets Pegasos users
and those who are contemplating to maybe buy this computer. It is to serve the
exchange of information and experiences. Everyone is cordially invited to this event.
The meeting starts on Friday, 1st August at 8pm. The organisators are currently trying

Amiga Demoscene Archive: Symphony Party Update
Symphony Party was held from 4-6 July 2003 in Poland. At A.D.A., 3 demos from that party were added:
- 1st place: By Night / Encore (PPC demo, also Pegasos/MorphOS)
- 2nd place: My definition in blue / Scarab (68k demo)
- 3rd place: Blind Visions / Appendix (68k slideshow)
On top of that, extra screenshots were added for Spellbound / Loveboat, Smokebomb / Ozone, Cybercinematastic / Loonies, Synergy / Sector 7 and My Kingdom/Scoopex and Haujobb.
A.D.A. now features 281 demos and 2725 screenshots.

Mercury News: Start-up's goal: run software on any chip
The article is about the company "Transitive" which apparently has developed
a very fast (70% native speed) and lightweight (600 KB)
"on-the-fly" binary code translator which shall make it possible to run software
on any processor architecture.
Recently an unknown "big partner" is claimed to have been found, who apparently

PPJoy: Using digital joysticks on the parallel port under Windows
Owners of e.g. a 4-player adaptor for the Amiga's parallel port are now able to
use their favourite digital joystick on the PC with the freeware driver
"PPJoy" by Deon van der Westhuysen. For tinkerers there's an overview of
supported interfaces of various other joysticks on the Web page.
