US-government warns of Internet Explorer
Because of the several lacks of security in the WWW browser Internet Explorer the
"United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team" which is an organization where the US government
has also some members warns of using the browser, at least if you have not changed some
preferences. Meanwhile the free author Paul Boutin advises to use Firefox instead of
the Internet Explorer. That seems to be not very special but this advice has been posted
in Microsoft online magazine Slate....

New Amiga dealer - handle with care
An amigaworld.net member pointed out that there's a new presumably British Amiga dealer called amigashop.co.uk. But just a few hours later, there are lots of indications suggesting that one should be very cautious when dealing with this entity:
The only means of contacting the dealer (apart from a HTML form) listed on the website is a mobile phone number, there's no postal address or proper imprint available.
There are AmigaOne motherboards available from the webshop, yet the manufacturer Eyetech states that they never heard about that particular vendor. The domain amigashop.co.uk is owned by pc-x-treme.net, a company that has allegedly cheated PC customers in the past and falsely claimed to be a subsidiary of a reputable hardware manufacturer.
More information and links to further evidence can be found at amigaworld.net.

Amiga.org Magazine: Spare issues of the pilot still available
There are still some spare issues of the pilot of the 'Amiga.org Magazine', a currently frozen
international print magazine in English language, available as Ron van Herk
('Palpatine') just reports at
Amiga.org.
The reasons for the frozen status of that magazine are said to
be not enough time by the editors and the overall situation
of the Amiga market which is not the best condition for a
needed and secured market demand.
Financing and material for articles as well as advertisers
were not the critical problem, thus giving hope the status
might change for future releases again when more Amigas,
independent which manufacturer or brand they will be, within
the market.
Further information and how to obtain one of the last issues
is to get at the title link.
