Ars Technica: Matrox DualHead2GoTest on (among other things) a µ-A1
In an English test report of Jeremy Reimer about DualHead2Go from Matrox - a small external box which distributes the video signal from a graphics card to two monitors - a µ-A1 with AmigaOS 4 is used as one system beside others.

Coming to the point: the necessary EDID-standard ("Extended Display Identification Data") isn't supported by AmigaOS 4 yet, even with the upcoming update, but according to a comment from Hans-Jörg Frieden (Hyperion) it is already under work. (snx) (Translation: ts)

The ToT team writes to this:

As an award in the pc business it would be very important for us, we would be very glad if Tales of Tamar would jump into the first 10 games. It will not become easy as the browser games have much more players.

CD Player 2.1 for AmigaOS/AfA and MorphOS
#AmigaZeux released version 2.1 of Ilkka Lehtoranta's CD Player. The update includes a bug-fixed MorphOS version and does now also support AmigaOS/AfA (AROS for AmigaOS).

Requirements for MorphOS version are:
  • MorphOS 1.0
  • FreeDB 13.0
Requirements for AmigaOS/AfA version are:
  • AmigaOS 3.0
  • "AROS for AmigaOS" extension
  • 68020 + FPU
  • MUI 3.8
  • CGX 3
  • AHI 4
  • WBStart for AmigaAMP plugins
  • FreeDB 13.0
Due to a bug in AfA (or in AROS), initially one didn't get the button graphics correctly on AmigaOS. This bug is fixed meanwhile by a new graphics_lib.exe for AfA (Download, 83 KB).

Please note that the common name with the old program by Stian Olsen for the Amiga Overdrive CDROM has been by accident; there is no connection between them. (snx)

Apple is doing the Intel-Switch
Now it is done, the Intel-Switch, which Steve Jobs announced in June last year for 2006. It was supposed to become one of the most exciting Keynotes of the past years at the MacWorld in San Francisco this year. Anyhow, the Keynote took nearly two hours, made do completely without popstars this time and nevertheless gave the frontman an applause of one. Read the complete article under the link above. Intel parts with the name "Pentium"
According to TG Daily Intel is slowly going to part completely with the brand "Pentium" as a name for processors without official statement. Present Pentium processors will for example be called "Intel D 920" or "Intel 672" in the future. The complete conversion of the names is supposed to be done in the near future. Intel was not willing to speak out on this.

Indeed the separation from an established brand name is chancy, says analyst Kevin Krewell , but the name Pentium has become obsolete and partly leads to confusion. Furthermore the single processor is becoming less and less important in Intel's product range, as the attention will be increasingly directed on platforms like Centrino. (nba) (Translation: iw)

MorphOS: Fireflies and APooler 1.0

Fireflies

Fireflies is a small Demo, which demonstrates the possibilities of TinyGL. (Screenshot).

APooler

The point of APooler is to decrease the memory-fragmentation on MorpOS, which can slow down the system after a longer working time. Apooler is at this moment not tested, this is the reason why the author has no information about the efficiency at this moment.
