Amiga Future Website Changes to PHP Today the Amiga Future homepage was changed to PHP. Some browsers don't seem to notice that, loading some pages in the cache, which causes them to be falsely displayed. Should this happen to you, try reloading the page. If that doesn't help, send an email to Andreas Magerl. (ps) (Translation: dm) [News message: 28. Mar. 2002, 21:42] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] |

AmigaOSXL: Experiences with the H&P Big-Tower 1800+ (Update) Dietmar Knoll: In my report I describe the experiences I made with the Big-Tower. These now reach from the delivery until the first experiences in everyday usage. The sixth update of my experiences report includes a test of the network card and a hint to the BoingBag3.9-2. As the most important news I can communicate the installation of more software, about which I compiled a software list. The next things I plan to do is install BoingBag2 and then have a closer look at AmigaXL. (ps) [News message: 22. Mar. 2002, 16:59] [Comments: 2 - 23. 22.Mar.2002 MobiliX |
Trademark Trouble: Asterix versus MobiliX As already reported on 26.01.2002, Werner Heuser, administrator of the open source project MobiliX - UniX on Mobile Computers has received a request from the German legal representative of "Lés Editions Albert René", owners of the trademark of the name Obelix, in November 2001. Werner Heuser sent the plaintiffs a 22 page response (PDF). His arguments were rejected, though, by the legal representative of the trademark owner. Werner Heuser: "Remarkable in the document are the insults at the end, which don't seem usual for writings from lawyers. The legal trouble is documented since its beginning at the MobiliX webpages and is discussed in many mailing lists and news groups. This seems to have impressed the plaintiffs. They now accuse MobiliX of inventing "a new kind of electronical terror", and are ready to sentence MobiliX. It will be interesting to know, which sentence the plaintiff will invent against critical discussion in newsgroups." Despite the announcements of the plaintiffs, the case goes on: The court in Munich (Germany) has set the date for the first hearing to June 12th 2002.
