Project for a better datatypes system Martin Machiels is planning a project to develop an enhanced datatypes system. Beside of other things the current one misses streaming support. Furthermore other features are missing in the library as well as in Multiview. Beside of the enhancements to the basic system new datatypes (read and write) for currently not supported formats as well as for new formats like MPEG-4 shall be developed, too. The new system should be backwards compatible and run on AmigaOS V3.x, V4.x, MorphOS, AROS, and Amithlon. The datatypes.library of the AROS project might be a starting point. Regarding organization Machiels has a project at Sourceforge in mind. People interested to participate in this project might contact Martin Machiels via e-mail: darklite@beer.com.
