IOSPIRIT appoints Mr. Hardware Computers as Official US-Distribution Partner
In an effort to improve the availability of its AmigaOS/MorphOS line of products in the United States of America, Mr. Hardware Computers has been appointed by IOSPIRIT as the Official Distribution Partner for this region.

US customers interested in the IOSPIRIT titles will benefit of shorter delivery times and the US-centric infrastructure of Mr. Hardware Computers. When ordering through this partner, US dollars can be used as currency for all payments. "We are very glad we could win Mr. Hardware Computers as Official Distribution Partner for the US region and can now jointly offer US customers a tailor-made solution for purchasing our products." said Felix Schwarz, IOSPIRIT.

"Mr. Hardware Computers is happy to include IOSPIRIT's products to our line of software programs. Demonstrations of these powerful programs will be given at usergroups around the New York area." said Russ Norrby, Mr. Hardware Computers.

Individual Computers at Classic Gaming Expo 2004
The big exhibition for classic computers and video games Classic Gaming Expo takes place for the seventh time this year. It is a tribute to the people, systems and games of yesteryear. The event has moved from Las Vegas to San Jose, California, it takes place in the Convention Center, located downtown San Jose, and is therefore much bigger than the previous years.

More than 60 celebrities that played important roles in development of computers and games in the past 25 years are on the guest list. CGE is open to the public and gamers of all ages are welcome.

Individual Computers will be a guest at the booth of Cloanto. We will show the new Catweasel MK4, which is an ideal complement to their Amiga Forever emulator. The Catweasel controller lets you use Amiga disks, Amiga joysticks and Amiga keyboards with today's computers.

The Catweasel MK4 will be available starting October 2004. (snx)

Error in AmiChameleon installer script
In the version of AmiChameleon released on August, 12th (we reported) is a bug in the installer script. According to a user's report the installer script aborted during the installation process. As an entry in the startup-sequence must be done the startup-sequence wasn't readable anymore after a reset.

The new script now doesn't add an entry to the startup-sequence anymore but gives the user the information that an entry has to be done and where it has do be done.

If this error occurs to other users, too, here is the solution of the problem: Before the writing to the startup-sequence a backup of this file was created called s:startup-sequence.orig. Just give it back its original name and everything should work as before.

AmiChameleon V1.35 Released
The theme installation program AmiChameleon has reached version 1.35. The following changes have been implemented:
  • After Thilo Köhler reorganized the skins of his ArTKanoid, AmiChameleon was adapted. It now supports the new skins as well as the new sounds.
  • It's immediately possible to have the AmiChameleon server check for certain program updates. Every time AmiChameleon starts (if this feature is activated and you're online) it checks to see if a new version is available from the server and notifies the user accordingly.
  • AmiChameleon is now available in 68k and WarpOS versions.
  • The localization data and installation script have been updated.
AmiChameleon v1.35 is available on the developer's homepage as a free download. (snx) (Translation: dm)
