MorphOS: SearchStar 0.93b, Gread 1.0f
Version 0.93b of the search program SearchStar fixes a bug by checking for the error "disk is full" now when saving.
Among other improvements, the text reader Gread 1.0f offers faster scrolling than its previous versions. (snx)

AmigaOS 4: ColEm 1.0r5
Bob Wicksall has released a new version of his AmigaOS 4 port of the ColecoVision emulator ColEm by Marat Fayzullin. The update allows doubling the size of the screen display, and offers an improved AHI-based sound output, P96-based graphics output, as well as increased game compatibility.

The model car producer Minichamps located in Aachen has designed a Mercedes 190E of the "Deutschen Tourenwagen-Meisterschaft" with the original Commodore advert. This car participated in the championships during the 1990ies.

AmigaOS 4: Origyn Web Browser 1.4
Jörg Strohmayer has published another update of the SDL-based Browser "Origyn Web Browser". Changes in version 1.4:
- Now opens clicked links with target "_blank", which would open in new
tab or window in a real browser, in the same frame ("_self") instead
of ignoring them
- Added a workaround for the SDL charset bug, now you can enter all chars of your system default charset which don't need a dead key

AmigaOS 4: AmiFTP 1.935
Joachim "Zerohero" Birging has published an update of the Reaction-based FTP-client AmiFTP. Changes in version 1.935:
- Lots of bugfixes, a lot related to uninitialised prefs
- Fixes to PubScreen options
- CLI arguments fixed. Also fixed "Docky" argument, it only worked as a tooltype before
- Added a log listview at the bottom of the window. Replaces the shell window used before. Check it out from the main prefs
- Dropping files on the docky icon will now upload those files, same as when it's iconified
- New icons by Martin 'Mason' Merz
Hint: In order to use AmiFTP and the toolbar pictograms the PNG-modul must be installed.

AmigaOS 4: FTP-Klient PFTP 0.0 Alpha 14
PFTP by Peter Gordon offers unlimited windows, server-to-server transfers and drag'n drop support.
In version 0.0 Alpha 14 now the SFTP protocol is supported which requires

AmigaOS 4: Origyn Web Browser 1.3
Jörg Strohmayer provides an update of the SDL based browser
"Origyn Web Browser". Changes in version 1.3:
- Added the experimental web UI and made it the default start page
There are lots of problems with it (back/forward doesn't work, PgUp/
PgDown doesn't work, ...), but it's probably better than nothing
Of course you can still start OWB with a different start page by
passing an URL as argument
- Changed default window size to 960 x 720
- Enabled two pass loading
- Added a workaround for a memory trashing bug, http://wikipedia.org/
main page is working now (http://en.wikipedia.org/ still doesn't, 100%
CPU usage without displaying anything)
- More optimizions in the memory allocator
- Disabled GIF animations for now, they slow down everything too much
- Chars which need can be entered now, but the AmigaOS4 SDL seems
to ignore the charset, for chars not in ISO-8859-1 you get something
different
To extract the archive 7Zip is required, which is also available
at Strohmayer's website.

MIDI-Sequencer: BarsnPipes 1.27
Alfred Faust provides an update of the multimedia MIDI sequencer BarsnPipes. Changes in version 1.27:
- Decision that every (even the most little one) change will increment the version number and thus will result in a new release
- SysEx editor Bug fixed: When a 00 value was entered the string was cut off
- Only for the classic version: Bug removed: The tracks area in the Media-Madness window has not been redrawn during replay (updated/renewed)
BarsnPipes for classic Amigas is available in three versions: Two of them require at least OS 3.0 and u

Video: MorphOS on Apple's Mac mini
Harry 'Piru' Sintonen confirms at Amiga.orf's forum that
MorphOS will run on the PowerPC versions of Apple's Mac mini in future. But the first release of
MorphOS 2.0 will include only support for the Pegasos 1, Pegasos 2 and Efika. Support for the Mac mini will be made avalable later
since the port is not ready yet.
Mark 'Bigfoot' Olsen does provide a video (33 MB)

AmiKit: Phenomena-Plugin for Real 3D available for free
After the Raytracer Real 3D with the permission of Delta Knowledge now the particle animation extension called Phenomena is available on the AmiKit website for free.
Phenomena was integrated to the Real-3D-Add-on for the AmiKit distribution and is available for all other users as ADF-files, too.

AROS: VmwAROS 0.6
VmwAROS is a preconfigured AROS environment for VMware which is supposed to give an impression of the operating system.
The new beta version 0.6 includes some important bug fixes and an easy upgrade program for the system files of AROS as well as the new disk validator.

Amiga Future 70 (January/February 2008) released
Press release Today the new edition of Amiga Future issue 70 (January/February 2008) has been released. This means that all subscriptions, pre-orders and dealer orders have been shipped today.
In this issue you can find an article about AmigaOS 4 for ClassicPPC. Also associated with the release of OS4 for Classic Amigas there is a very comprehensive Special which shows the differences between AmigaOS 3.x and AmigaOS 4.0.
Also we have tested the new version of MindSpace for you, and even better there is a review of the brand new Amiga Forever 2008 in this latest issue.
Additionally in the Amiga Future magazine you will see reviews about AmigaSYS, IGame, Filemanager and lots of more.
At the title link you can get a more detailed description of the magazines contents and even see previews, extracts from this issue.
The Amiga Future is available as a German or English printed magazine directly from the editorial office at the title link and of course from some Amiga dealers as well. You can obtain your copy of the magazine by way of subscription or as a single issue, either with or without the Cover CD.
As usual you will find lots of PD software and even some full releases of former commercial software with every issue of the Amiga Future Cover CD. ACube: Small delay in delivering Minimig
Pressannounce: UUnfortunately some delays forced us to slightly postpone the shipping of Minimigs. We would like to offer our customers the usual high quality service as a sign of respect for the many orders we received so far. Therefore we need to delay the shipping of the Minimig that will start on February, 1st.
Our apology and our thanks to all whom are waiting.
We would also take the opportunity to give more details about the PSU needed for the Minimig. The board needs to be powered with a stabilized 5V, so you'll need a PSU which can deliver such power and with a jack connector.
ACube Systems will also sell a Minimig bundle inclusive of an adequate PSU. This bundle will be available at the price of EUR 149 (excluding local taxes and shipping cost).
With every Minimig sold will be included a 1GB SD Card. It's plenty of space for your ADF files.
