PDF viewer: Port of VPDF for AmigaOS 4
In 2012 a bounty was started for porting the PDF viewer VPDF from MorphOS to AmigaOS 4 due to the outdated and rather slow engine of AmiPDF. Roman 'kas1e' Kargin now has released a working version of the programm on OS4Depot.

Previews: Adventures "Furtum Sacrum" and "RetroWars", Beat'em Up "Brus Lii"
The point'n click adventures Furtum Sacrum (video) and Retro Wars (video) are developed by the Spanish team of Amiga Wave using the editor GRAC and some AMOS code. Both games require any Amiga with one Megabyte Chip-RAM.
Retro Wars immerses in the world of "Star Wars" and has already been finished. You can download a Spanish version of the game from the website and the major part of the English translation has been already done. For collectors there is a boxed edition, which can be ordered via eMail from the authors:
According to the website, Furtum Sacrum ("Sacred Theft") "places us in the late Middle Ages. Specifically, in the Northwest of Spain, where there are a number of pilgrimage routes and roads with a lots of monasteries flourishing everywhere. These monasteries offer services to pilgrims in exchange for alms, they also have their own sources of funding, their crops and local products." An early (Spanish) demo version can be downloaded.
The English translation of RetroWars as well as the development of Furtum Sacrum temporarily were suspended because Amiga Wave were going to finish "Brus Lii" (Youtube) to submit it to the Amiga Game Jam 2016 in time.

Hyperion: Screenshot shows installation process of AmigaOS on Tabor
A screenshot published in the official blog of Hyperion shows the "Installation Utility for the A1222" and thus demonstrates a regular installation of AmigaOS 4.1 FE on the Tabor motherboard. The headline "First steps towards beta test :D" is supposed to emphasize the current progress compared with level of development from October when a single developer was buzy adapting the operating system to the new motherboard.

Kickstart switcher: Software update for A500Flash
A software update for the Kickstart switcher A500Flash developed by Retro 7-bit (amiga-news.de reported) has been released. Version 1.2 fixes a bug of the communication with accelerator boards ("fix check toggle ready procedure").

Workbench distribution: AmiKit 9 Reloaded for Mac with Rabbit Hole
On October 2015 "Rabbit Hole" was introduced which for the Workbench distribution AmiKit makes it possible to start programms of the Linux or Windows operating system or to get access to Amiga files.
Releasing "AmiKit 9 Reloaded for Mac" this now is also possible with Mac OS X. Version 10.8 of the operating system is required. Additionally WinUAE under Wine 2.0 is used instead of E-UAE which provides more speed and stability to AmiKit.

Barjack Magigames: New pictogramms for WHDLoad games (Update)
Barjack Magigames provides every collection of WHDLoad games an informative set of icons (screenshot) because at first glance the new pictogramms provide information on chipset, year of release, category, language, rating and if it is a disk or CD game. The first set covers all games starting with 0-9 or the letter A (Download-Link).

MorphOS: "Hurra, ich wachse!" 2.0
The MorphOS programm "Hurra, ich wachse!" written by Ulrich Beckers "is an app to monitor and manage all body sizes/measures of children during their growth phase (age of 0-18 years) and includes data for height, weight, head girth, skinfolds, hip and waist circumference as well as for blood pressure. Additionally the body mass index (BMI), waist/hip relation, waist/height relation and body fat get automatically calculated."
Version 2.0 of the programm now is available in German and English. Additionally a responsive graphic interface and a new menu were added.

Text editor featuring Kickstart-1.2 compatibility: Redit 1.14
Kai Scherrer's text editor Redit works without any limitations on an Amiga equipped with Kickstart 1.2, but also is fully compatible with higher versions of the system. The editor can be also launched from an emergancy disk or used after booting without startup-sequence.
Changes of version 1.14:
- Bugfix: new documents could thrash file lock - fixed
- Improved: library loading is now done by own routines, decreasing binary size
- Stackwarning message removed
- Increased stacksize to 16k

To vote for the best AmigaOS 68k, AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, or AROS games, you can rate them at the title link. There will be no "global" winner, but a winner by systems. The final results will be published on monday, February 6, 2017.
Wie jedes Jahr lässt David Brunet auch für 2016 auf der Obligement-Webseite über das beste Spiel unter AmigaOS, AmigaOS 4, MorphOS bzw. AROS abstimmen. Die Wahl erfolgt für das jeweilige Betriebssystem.

AmigaOS 4 / AROS / MorphOS: SnapIT 1.4
SnapIT written by Stefan Blixth (OnyxSoft) is a "powerful screen grabber" for AmigaOS 4, MorphOS and AROS/x86 (screenshot).
The version of MorphOS can save the screenshots as different formats by using Reggae. Generally version 1.4 now can be used without a user-interface.
Changes:
- Reggae-support for saving data which includes a lot more formats to save to (MorphOS only)
- Missed to apply translation to the ASL-window (save file as...)
- Fixed that the free grab works as intended if the program was started iconified
- Added Greek translation by Anthony Iliakis
- Using latest MUI4 on OS4 to set the "aiming" pointer when using freegrab mode
- Now possible to grab a screen and save it without using the GUI (cli argument)
- Added CX_POPKEY / CX_POPUP handling
- Modified SnapIT so it can only be started in one instance, run it twice, uniconifies the first instance
- Included a updated Spanish guide file by Victor Gutiérrez
- Removed the requester when starting the program without a keyfile
