AmigaOS 4: ACube's Game-DVD available as download Recently ACube introduced a game-DVD with more than 70 ports for AmigaOS 4 which now also is available as digital download. Jump and Run: Frank Wille announces "Solid Gold" for Amiga 500 Frank "phx" Wille (among others Sqrxz, vbcc) has announced another jump'n run game for the end of the year. "Solid Gold" is created in cooperation with the brother of Wille who is the graphic artist:
Wille describes Solid Gold as "a mix of Turrican, Giana Sisters and Rick Dangerous". The game was developed in assembler and features smooth 8-way-scrolling with 50 pictures per second. An Amiga with at least one megabyte RAM (512 KB Chip, 512 KB Fast) is required. Currently the highscore list and the final sequence are written. Apart from "some fine-tuning" (Wille) all other work was completed. Solid Gold will be released as ADF-image. The source code will be available for free. (cg) (Translation: dr) [News message: 20. Z3SDRAM: Development of Zorro-II/III memory extension and network card In the forum of Amiga.org, Tim 'tnt23' Taschpulatow has introduced version 1.2 of his Z3SDRAM-project. The memory extension was originally developed for Zorro-III-slots but now can also be used with Zorro II and additionally has an ethernet-controller based on the DM9000-chip by Davicom. AmigaOS 4: Game DVD 1 with 70 game ports At the Alchimie, ACube announced a game-DVD which is from now on available in the ACube-shop. It includes about 70 ports, which either are available for the first time or which were updated compared to existing versions (bug fixes, Joystick-support etc.). If a game or engine should require external level data then they are not included in the DVD due to licence reasons. Instead, the included installer will download the files from the Internet during the installation. The following games are available on "Game DVD 1": RPG/Adventure:
