`24.Jun.2012` Amigaworld.net (Webseite)	AmigaOS 4: A-EON Technology secures RadeonHD driver support According to A-EON Technology under the title link, it has signed a new development agreement with premier AmigaOS graphics specialist Hans de Ruiter which ensures the future compatibility of AmigaOS 4 with the latest RadeonHD graphics cards. This new driver will support the RV5x0 to RV7x0-chipsets (e.g X1950, HD4000) as well as HD5000-, HD6000- and the current HD7000-graphic boards. For purchasers of an AmigaOne-X1000 the drivers are for free. Customers of ACube Systems can buy them for 28,85 £ (about 37 Euro). `24.Jun.2012` EAB (Forum)	EmuTOS: Atari-ST-compatible OS for Amiga EmuTOS is a GEMDOS (in German)-compatible operating system for Atari-ST-computers which now also was ported for the Amiga. `21.Jun.2012` Edgar Schwan (ANF)	AmigaOS 4: X11-environment AmiCygnix 1.1 With Edgar Schwan's X11-environment AmiCygnix (screenshots: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) it is possible to launch several Unix applications under AmigaOS. Most important changes in version 1.1: Support of programs compiled for GTK+ 2.24 and GTK+ 3.x. A new (experimental) display driver is included, which opens a X11 display in a workbench window. The X server and the display drivers were revised. The server can now be launched several times without problems. All new programs with an own directory in the AmiCygnix "Software" directory will have two start scripts: One for opening the application on the desktop (just like before) and a script, which opens the program in an own display. With a special version of the settings editor "myX11Setup" you can select the display driver and the window manager for every application, which is launched with the new start script. A new icon theme in AmgaOS 4.1 style is included. The workbench icons are now all in AmigaOS 4.1 style. Version 1.0 of AmiCygnix could not be installed on partitions formatted with the filesystem JXFS. This is now solved. Most of the programs and libraries used in this package were replaced by current versions. AmiCygnix 1.1 can be copied over an existing installation of a previous version. `18.Jun.2012`	PPC-Hardware: Status update for UltimatePPC Last Saturday in Maarssen the meeting of the Commodore Gebruikersgroep took place which also was visited by the two developers of the PPC-extension UltimatePPC which was announced some weeks ago. One of the members have uploaded some pictures to amiga.org and have given a short summary of the current status of the project: Hardwarewise the PPC side is working and booting. The 68040 side works, but does not yet talk to the classic hardware. The card does run, standalone. But the Amiga will not boot yet with the card inserted. [editor's note: This would mean that both processors obviously are more integrated than it seemed at the first announcement]. Active talks with Hyperion for supporting AmigaOS4.x. Driver support: lots of help pledged for building drivers for all the hardware goodies (more help is always welcome!). Support for WarpUp/WarpOS through support pledged by the original author. The MicroSD card on the UltimatePPC holds the firmware/bootcode. This is indended to stay. That means upgrading/flashing the card can be done with a normal PC and a card reader... !! Editor's note: The QorIQ P1013 Power-Processor which is used on the UltimatePPC contains a FPU which is not compatible with processors used in other Amiga-PPC-projects. According to our information this would mean that - supposed WarpOS or AmigaOS 4 would be adapted to UltimatePPC - no other existing PPC-software would run on this hardware and the PPC-programms have to be adapted to the UltimatePPC by the developers.
